NBA Players React to ESPN’s ‘Broke’

A tweetcap.

Tuesday night, ESPN aired Broke, a 30 for 30 documentary that outlined the financial issues many athletes have after earning millions and millions of dollars playing professional sports. Fortunately, many NBAers saw the film—and hopefully learned a thing or two about saving their scrilla—and a bunch of them took to Twitter during and after the movie with a variety of thoughts regarding what they were watching. Roll through the gallery above to check ‘em out.

How did Dwayne Wade “write” a book? He doesnt seem to understand the difference between “inspiring” and “aspiring”….. SMDH.

I honestly hope John Wall bought it for spite. That would make it even funnier.

Damn, Delonte West dosen’t seem like he learned a thing from watching the documentary, talking about how he’ll keep doing the same thing he’s been doing, even AFTER he ended up homeless. We’ll probably see him in the next edition of Broke 20 years from now (hopefully not tho). Herm Edwards had the best quote by far. “A Goal Without a Plan is a Wish.” Words to live by, for sure.

John Wall may have caught some stupid from McGee.

    Lmao @ John Wall….SMH

Slam does it again. I love how they have a picture of Wall’s brand new ride among the tweets.

How many pro athletes’ girlfriends, wives, changed the channel when #broke was airing?

I understood about 50% of those tweets. The next 30 for 30 should be called “Broke-n English”

I like how everyone is taking it seriously and watching the program, hopefully learning from others mistakes…. Except for John Wall who posts a picture of his new Ferrari, what a douchebag, hope his ass goes broke too.

Very sad to see pro athletes blow through this kind of $$$. I’m a financial
advisor for several NBA players and would be happy to answer anyone’s
    questions. -Don http://www.dksportsfinancial.com
