Paul Pierce Expects Rajon Rondo to Take More Shots

Rajon Rondo has evolved into the Boston Celtics’ undisputed leader, and according to teammate Paul Pierce, Rondo needs to take on more responsibility on the offensive end of the floor. Per the Boston Herald: “The Celtics have completed their first workout and it appears the rise of Rajon Rondo is continuing apace. Paul Pierce was asked if anyone stood out in the opening session. ‘Rondo looked great today,’ said Pierce. ‘He’s pushing the ball. He looks strong. He’s knocking down his shot. He’s TAKING his shot. But that’s what we want from him, and that’s what we’re going to expect from him. You know, he’s our leader. We’re going to look for him to do a lot of good things for us.’”

Scary. If he can improve his jumpshot like Derrick rose did 2 years ago, he’ll be the best point guard in the league, no doubt about it.

Rondo’s 2012 Conference Finals series was one of the best overall playoff series I’ve seen in a long, long time by a PG. If he can play that well offensively during the regular season (even in patches), then yes, I’d have him as a top 2 PG.

he was actually the best shooter in the league last year from behind the free throw line on the right side, true story

He’s been in the league for a while, his shot won’t get drastically better anytime soon.

If he was able to hit his jump shot more consistently, i don’t see why he wouldn’t be the #1 PG. hed automatically become a top 3 player behind Durant IMO

Did Derrick Rose really improve his jumper that much?

    That’s a nice article.
