Antonio McDyess Wants to Make an NBA Comeback

38-year old Antonio McDyess would like to come out of retirement, should an NBA team deem him worthy of a contract. Reports Yahoo! Sports: “After sitting out a season in retirement, former All-Star forward Antonio McDyess is contemplating a return to the NBA. McDyess, 38, has been working out in Houston and has instructed his agent, Andy Miller, to gauge league interest in him. ‘He would consider coming back and I will be reaching out to select teams,’ Miller said. Long considered one of the consummate professionals and gentlemen in the NBA, McDyess played 15 seasons before retiring with the San Antonio Spurs in 2011. Several knee surgeries between 2001 and 2004 perhaps curtailed McDyess prime as perennial All-Star selection, but McDyess had several productive seasons as a role player with Detroit and San Antonio before leaving the league after the 2011 playoffs. In his final season, McDyess averaged 5.3 points and 5.4 rebounds in 19 minutes a game for the Spurs.”

If K-Mart would accept the vet minimum he’d already be helping a contender. I think he’s still waiting for a decent contract because Camby got one

i really like how he transformed his super athletic game which he was taken away from him due to knee problems, into one of the best mid range shooting bigs this league has seen the last 20 years.

You’re right he made a big adjustment to his game and kept on being a quality player which he should get more credit for. If the guy does come back I hope he plays well and picks up a title. I’d love to see that happen in San Antonio.

Kenyon REFUSES to sign for the veteran minimum, i bet Mcdyess would sign for the minimum.
