Blake Griffin Critical of Head Coach Vinny Del Negro

On Monday night, Blake Griffin had the worst game of his young NBA career. The Clippers star forward blamed the loss to the visiting New Orleans Hornets on his head coach, the forever-embattled Vinny Del Negro. Per the LA Daily News: “A lack of intensity hurt the Clippers’ chances for a victory Monday, no question about it, but did a change in tactics finish them? Clippers power forward Blake Griffin said he believed some changes made on the fly also were to blame. ‘I think we tried to change some things, tried to change our schemes and some things we have been successful at and that hurt us,’ Griffin said after scoring a career-low four points on 1-for-9 shooting. ‘I think we should play teams how we play every team. We made adjustments down the stretch when certain guys hurt us and I think we should have stuck with what we had been doing and what has made us successful.’ Coach Vinny Del Negro went with a smaller lineup, playing center DeAndre Jordan for only 15 minutes, 23 seconds. Del Negro also used Jordan’s backup, Ryan Hollins, for barely eight minutes.”

Sloan, McMillan and more is available.. its time to get a great coach for this great roster

No question Del Negro should go but when you go 1 for 9 and blame the coach for the loss it comes across as a tad bit lame.

Find a coach who can make the most of Chris Paul. D’Antoni would have been IDEAL for this team. Can you imagine Paul, Crawford, Griffin, and Jordan in a SSOL offense? Scary.

Vinny isn’t going to stay long. That’s a fact ever since the clippers got Paul. But, Blake the reason they don’t play you and Deandre in clutch time is because you guys can’t make free throws.

Saying Vinny Del Negro made adjustments (even if it were to the detriment of the team) is a compliment to Vinny Del Negro.
    A Compliment.

Apparently Chris Paul does not want to play fast paced basketball.

First CP implicitly said that they lost to a less talented team which is WELL coached.
Then BG in a situation where he normally should’ve said it’s his fault he goes on to say what he said.

    It’s obvious.

Based on his play or statements he’s made?

not statements, but that’s the word i’ve been hearing about him since his last year in NO. He likes to operate in the half-court for whatever reason. and it’s not something i’ve just heard in passing, i’ve heard it multiple times over the last 3 years. and i wish i remember who, but there was a blogger who explained that it happened sometime after his knee injury. he expressed to his coach (Monty Williams i believe) that he wasn’t interested in changing the pace of the team or something along those lines.

Yo Phil Jackson should coach the Clippers to stick it in the face of the Lakers it’s not even like it’s a terrible team to coach they have the best pg in the game, a star in BG, an athletic freak in Deandre Jordan, weapons in Crawford, Butler, Billups when he comes back, he could even develop Bledsoe some.. It sure would make the season A LOT more fun to watch lol!
