Golden State Warriors Shutting Down Andrew Bogut for 7-10 Days

Andrew Bogut and his bum left ankle will be taking the next 7-10 days off, according to Warriors head coach Mark Jackson. The team hopes the rest will help the surgically-repaired joint heal. Per CSN Bay Area: “Bogut fractured his left ankle while playing for the Bucks in January, and though he did return for the team’s opening game in Phoenix on Oct. 31, it was obvious that he wasn’t 100 percent. The Warriors had hoped Bogut would be at full strength for the entire season. But so far this season, Bogut has been on a 20-minute limit and he had been sitting out the second game of back-to-backs. Using the seven-to-10-day time frame, Bogut will miss a minimum of three games and could miss as many as five. […] Bogut has played i four of the Warriors’ first five games, though not more than 20 minutes in any of them. But even when Bogut has been on the court, he hasn’t looked like his old self. He doesn’t seem to have the lift he’s had in years’ past and his footwork has been rusty. After the Warriors’ 94-92 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Monday, Bogut was asked if he thought the ankle was getting better. Said Bogut: ‘I’m not going to comment on that.’”
