Kobe Bryant: Foot ‘About To Fall Off’

Kobe scored 40 points in 43 minutes last night, but it was clear the Lakers star was pushing through some serious pain. While icing his foot in front of reporters, Mamba told reporters that his foot feels like it’s “about to fall off” (and compared his team to the ’91 Bulls, too): “Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 40 points in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 105-95 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, but the scoring outburst might have come at a cost. Bryant said he was playing on one leg and told reporters in the locker room after the game that he felt like his right foot was ‘about to fall off’ during the game. Bryant missed a week’s worth of practice and the final two preseason games while he recovered from a right foot injury that Bryant characterized as an ankle contusion that also irritated the tendon that runs along the bottom of his foot. The 17-year veteran asked a locker room attendant to have longtime Lakers trainer Gary Vitti to get his walking boot ready for him so he could wear it when he left the arena.”

If they keep losing this ni99a is gonna lose his mind. Oh, I think the foot excuse is going to be his goto if the season doesn’t live up to expectations.

  • caribbeancop

Kobe needs to take it easy. Age fights no matter how much fitness u have

  • RKJ92

Ya dude Kobe seriously has an excuse every year.. #MANUP

  • ByAnyMeansNecessary

“Kobe scored 40 points while his foot was feeling like it was about to fall off??!!” Somewhere, someone is saying that.
The team needs to build chemistry but if he’s going to keep playing with it and it’s hurting that much, he may need to take a few games off. This isn’t a finger injury that he can just wrap up and play with like he did a few seasons ago.

Horry Jr is coming off like Jim Harbaugh when he played for the Indianapolis Colts. He earned the nickname “Captain Courageous” for always playing hurt. When Jim Kelly interviewed Harbaugh and pointed out that all players played injured and his “Captain Courageous” thingy was pure public relations, Harbaugh wanted to fight him. There’s nothing wrong with Horry Jr, other than lacking a Y-chromosome.

I gotta say sometimes KB is a true cry baby I’m a Laker fan and honestly I can’t stand little boys making excuses he now has the best team money can buy and HE! comes up short.

Perhaps he should drop the ego and keep his mouth shut! and just play ball. Can I get an AMEN! my bros and sis.

  • Conor

He’s a legend & you are commenting on him on an internet board. #stfu

  • shutup

Hercules is a legend, Kobe is a basketball player, calm down. #suckinkobeoff

  • Conor

It says that he has tendon issues which stem from the ankle contusion. You do realize that there are nerve endings which connect to tendons, right? And that his profession is to run on it, right?

  • Conor

    Context. Shut up, shutup.

  • Conor

Don’t tell Mike Brown that, though! He’s only the coach who has his ageing core playing 40+ minutes at the beginning of the season.

Yeah the context is your a super Kobe slurper, bet you got your Black Mamba undies on and a 33 lower Marion jersey on as you comment on slam

  • Conor

Something specific seems to be on your mind, eh, champ?

  • Conor

Angry at Mike Brown/to’s (mostly Gasol’s inability to catch a simple pass, Blake’s propensity to pass to the opposing team, & Kobe/Artest dribbling into 2/3 people).

  • wet

come up short? he did drop 40 points and played 43 minutes.

I swear your corny ass need a new hobby because trolling slamonline is not getting you nowhere

  • http://twitter.com/BlackTop_GOD GODofdaSOUTH

Man shut the hell up…..You can tell the who never played a lick of basketball you would know he’s not making excuses his foot injury is real

    Vs Dallas-22 points shooting 11 of 14

    Vs Blazers-30 points shooting 10 of 20

    Vs Clippers-40 points shooting 14 of 23

shooting over 60% from the field

For him to be still playing this good on a bad foot I give props Win or Lose….

Mike Brown can’t give the starters time to rest because his rotations garbage for example last night Kobe played 42 minutes and only rested for 5 meanwhile Jodie Meeks sitting on the bench and Mike Brown don’t even let him in the game

  • shockexchange

And after an attack against the Shock Exchange’s person, he stands corrected. Horry Jr is not using his bum foot for public relations. Thank-you for that Jerry Falwell.

@wet I couldn’t care if he drop 100 pts like Wilt.. the fact remains that he’s a PRICK!!!! of a teammate for him to be in the L this long he should have learn how to up lift his teammates rather then talk down to them. that’s the bottom line!
@Conor FYI I’m a certified CSCS & coach D3 ball, so your not saying nothing, Kobe is a PRO, but he certainly has no class he doesn’t know how to help his teammate play better he too dame quick to criticize.
@GODofdaSOUTH Listen up Jack Ass! all those stats don’t mean SH?#* if you don’t play as a TEAM!!!!!!! you do know that word right? it’s spelled T E A M.. look it up. simply like I said he’s a lousy teammate one would think with the new faces he would lead in making sure everybody gels and create chemistry. I’m Still and always a fan of the purple & gold but at the end of the date the truth is the truth. And by the way MJ played hurt and NEVER! disrespected his teammates he understood he couldn’t do it alone.

Hercules is a myth, genius. Jordan is a legend. See the difference?

  • shutup

Stories about Zeus are myths, Hercules was an actual person, so his feats are legends. That’s the difference between a myth and a legend.
    Definition of LEGEND
a : a story coming down from the past; especially : one popularly regarded as historical although not verifiable

    myth noun ˈmith
    Definition of MYTH
a : a usually traditional story of ostensibly historical events that serves to unfold part of the world view of a people or explain a practice, belief, or natural phenomenon

Thank you genius. Now, do you see the difference?

  • robb

he’s been playing great. Excuse for what?

  • patrick

what the f is bryan ttalking about? foot falling off? i’ve never had that sensation once in my life…

  • shutup

For losing, and/or not winning a chip with the greatest collection of talent in the NBA. For him being the most successful, worst teammate since Oscar Robertson.

  • charliewinning

MJ verbally abused and punch his teammates. Not defending Kobe, or commenting on anything else you said, but I’m tired of all the myth-making about athletes as if they’re perfect. Jordan was/is a douche.

  • mike

    Ready-made excuse
