Dwight Howard is undoubtedly the best pure center in the West…but who takes that title in the East?
Who's the best center in the Eastern Conference?
Read the SLAMonline Discussion Rules before posting.
Yikes those are some awful choices.
the voting is even more awful. How is Tyson Chandler really leading the charge? I mean do any of these f*cking people watch basketball?
Tyson Chandler is averaging 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks, his defensive rating is 105!!!! (defense is his ONLY skill) and you f*ckheads are voting him the best Center in the East?
There’s a simple answer: who does he play for? Imagine if Bynum played on the Knicks.
bynum is the best injured center in the league.. the best of it.
Are people seriously voting for Brook Lopez?! Sure, if you enjoy a stat line of 18 points and 5 rebounds per game…..
I am disappointed in 95% of people. They obviously don’t watch basketball. Tyson Chandler hasn’t been playing as well as previous seasons, Roy Hibbert is having one of the worst years in his career, Noah is being his normal self, Bynum hasn’t even played this season and Brook Lopez… do I even need to explain myself on that one? He’s a scorer, thats it.
Greg Monroe is the best Center in the East, he’s averaging 18 pts 10 reb 4 ast 1 blk a game. How he isn’t on this list and why he never gets any recognition is beyond me.
Best center in the east today?
By all star break?
At the end of the year?
Noah today. Lopwz by All star break. Bynum end of the year(end of season/next season).
I think it’s because he is a tweener.
He should be playing PF, but has to play center till Drummond is ready.
Why does slam keep disrespecting detroit. seriously monroe is the most talented center right now. just cuz were 4-11
Not just Slam unfortunately
Well, even as a tweener he’s playing pretty well. Drummond? Detroit fans would love him to actually play with Greg, except Coach Frank has a weird concept regarding developing young talented bigmen. He’s a hack.
I wouldn’t call him a “hack” per se, but he doesn’t always make solid choices as far as developing talents and playing for the future. He is a smart x’s and o’s guy, just can’t relate to players all that well is what I see.
I love Monroe’s game and he is a top 3 center without doubt in the east.
Well if were gonna vote for injured players Nene should be in the discussion. But how does KG get left out?
like seriously, look at this list bynum is pretty much done for the time being, hibbert is an absolute bust since the contract, has had 1 good game all year. next is noah who has like varejao playing 40 mins a night. lopez is a talented soft big man, never been a rebounder and now this year he averages 2+ blocks and everyone is dickridin. chandler is absolute garbage, totally overated have fun paying 15 mill for him ny.
Anderson Varejao. Look at tonight’s boxscore
If you’ve followed the team this season, you’ll see Frank still has a long way to go before being an average NBA coach, he has poor situational awareness and a dodgy rotation. It may be Detroit but hell, they sure as hell shouldn’t be 4 – 11.
Agreed on Monroe, whats crazy is that this is only his third season! Wish he’d get more cred.
Hey man, not denying it haha look at my post a little further down.
As far as I’m concerned, Moose is one of the best big men in the league, its sad how he gets no recognition though.
Andersen Varejao, Greg Munroe, or Chris Bosh. None of the guys above.
Al Horford ? Lol.
Is in the West.
Chandler is garbage? ha!
i dont get it either
who do you think it is? there isnt much choice. Varejao is playing the best imo. i think Chandler makes the least amount of mistakes offensively.
why are people sleeping on him? i dont get it. maybe they just forgot.
Al Horford has been the best Center in the East this season.
That’s a pretty ugly list. What happened to the Ewings, Zos, Hakeems, D. Robs, Shaqs? Are dominant centers a dying breed? These guys are all average.
Chris Bosh 20.1 , 8.4 rebounds , 1.3 blks over Lopez
varjou the way hes been playing
