Steve Blake Fined $25k for Swearing at a Fan

Steve Blake got into it with a fan during the Clippers/Lakers game on Friday night, and now, he’s $25,000 poorer for it. Per the press release: “Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Blake has been fined $25,000 for directing inappropriate language toward a fan, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations. The incident occurred with 29.2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ 105-95 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, November 2 at Staples Center.”

Good, should’ve been 50k but still good on the league.

  • C_K_L_O

50k? Really? You’d be worse than Stu Jackson, and that’s saying a lot.

  • Redd

Yes, I think the league needs to start fining in relation to player’s huge contracts.

  • LakeShow

Blake’s a fiery fella. Very competitive. He was going right at CP3 all game.

  • Redd

Doesn’t nor should ever justify cursing in front of children..ever. That’s why I’m happy about this. I don’t f**k with any person that think’s it’s ok to curse, swear, etc in front of kids.

I only even bump clean versions of songs in my song. Children are the only positive in the world & to taint that can never be respected.

  • K_HOLIDAY

Anybody ask the fan what he said?

  • Lorne

What about the kids who read your comments on this site? Are you not going to f**k with yourself now?

  • Redd

Kids? I highly doubt little kids read here & I don’t curse here, this is the one time I did & I censored it(there’s no censoring here) but you’re right, I’ll edit it.

Hey Jesus, have you ever been to basketball game? Fans swear like crazy too. Fining Blake isn’t going to do anything. The fans (who are closer to the sacred children anyways) aren’t going to stop. Might as well accept it.

  • Redd

Jesus? LOL moron. You mean being considerate makes you holy? I’ve even met atheists who are considerate, they must be Jesus too?

It’s called being a decent person you douche. So, that’s your justification? That there’s other idiots like you thus it’s no big deal? Every action affects someone & especially kids.

  • LakeShow

Blake’s a fiery fella. Very competitive. He was going right at CP3 all game…

“Moron”, “douche”, “idiots”… Please continue your discussion on how important it is to be considerate to and of others.

  • pposse

yo 50k would be more than what Blake makes in a whole game.

  • G$

Here I was all happy that Steve Blake got beatdown and went out like a chump, and Redd’s sanctimonious prudishness has me reconsidering my joy. Worst cursing I ever heard in my life was in middle school. Don’t want your kids to hear foul words? Then maybe don’t take ‘em to a professional sporting event. Try a Disney flick. And stop calling people douches. Hypocrite.

  • Redd

LOL, cause I’m not being considerate to a douchebag? In that case, I will.

Nice attempt to turn around the fact you’re an inconsiderate jerk. You still are, sorry to tell you but our actions(yet again) affect others.

  • Redd

How much does he make? I’m going to check.

  • G$

Redd called Blake a “douche” and he got all bent outta shape. Now his wallet’s lighter.

  • Redd

Douche is a bad word? Genius. Basketball games are considered family events, far and wide. Maybe make sense & have a point against me instead of falsely calling me a hypocrite cause I don’t ignore criticizing & holding people to better standards.

  • Redd

And that’s fine, but to channel your fiery into being inappropriate ain’t fine. Isn’t fine for Blake to Kobe. Sad thing is Blake gets find & Kobe goes viral.

  • Redd

I’m sure you guys think I’m being obnoxious by criticizing something you think is nothing. But it’s something to me & it’s a comment board so I add my comments. Let it go not everyone agrees.

I personally prefer to speak up since many people don’t want to call a bad thing, bad. I’m the eldest brother, I’ve worked with special needs children, and I care about kids. That’s ME not you, so based off who I am I will react accordingly. I’m sorry you disagree with me & my bad for any disrespect, let it go.

4 mill a year (i believe). I think a fine in the nba should be made proportional to your salary tho..i think thats fair. Even tho 25k is a lot, it reps a lot more to Steve Blake then it does a Kobe. Ofcourse in the real world its kind of unfair to make rules like this, and the players union would never accept something like this, but imo i think it would be fair.

  • Redd

It’d be dope if fines went to causes(idk if they do maybe I’m wrong) instead of the league with greedy people like Stern.

  • RKJ92

K you were the guy that didn’t want kids in other countries to experience the excitement of an NBA game because “IT SHOULD ONLY BE IN AMERICA” your a PRlCK dude… don’t even try to act like your a good guy

  • RKJ92

He’s not turning anything around your a DICK and that’s the truth!…

  • LakeShow

    Douche:
usually refers to vaginal irrigation, the rinsing of the vagina, but it can also refer to the rinsing of any body cavity.

    Sh*t(ie “poop”):
The aftermost and highest deck of a ship.
    Excrement.
    Up-to-date or inside information.
    A stupid or ineffectual person.
    .
    .
    .
    I’ll take sh*t over douche.

  • Redd

Funny, I never said that you did. I said its dumb for NBA or NFL to host games in London. Where soccer rules, nobody cares about the game there. You care more that 1st world kids experience NBA games than children having food & water?

    Nice try though prick.

  • Redd

Cause I care what a guy who stalks my comments & can’t use you’re proper thinks?

  • That guy

LOL at Redd and u other guys

  • Redd

You’re means you are. I meant to use your. You’ve (yes the correct grammatical way) proven you are (correct once again champ) worthless and no one here values your contributions. GTFO.
