Steve Nash Hopes to Play Through Left Leg Contusion

Steve Nash went down with a leg contusion last night in Portland, as the Los Angeles Lakers dropped their second game in a row. Nash is hopeful about suiting up on Friday against the LA Clippers. Per the OC Register: “Nash said he was kneed on the outside of his lower left leg by Portland rookie point guard Damian Lillard in the closing minutes of the first half Wednesday night. He left the game and got treatment and a padded sleeve for his leg at halftime, but the leg gave out on him again a minute into the second half. Nash went to the locker room again and did not return, replaced by backup Steve Blake with 10:44 left in the third quarter. The Lakers will miss Nash if he can’t play Friday night in the third game of the season: The Lakers face the Clippers and star point guard Chris Paul. Nash said he is ‘hopeful’ he can play Friday.”
