Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans Reportedly May Be Traded Before Deadline

The Bucks and the Kings decided not to offer Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans (respectively) contract extensions when they were eligible for ‘em last summer, and so it’s believed that both teams are going to weigh trade offers in the coming months, given the obvious risk that Jennings and Evans could leave this offseason and leave their respective squads with nada. More, via Ric Bucher: “Neither Tyreke Evans, nor Brandon Jennings, were given extensions this fall — so which one is more likely to be dealt before the February trade deadline or play somewhere else next season? Put your money on Jennings. Several teams are already quietly assessing him to decide what he should be worth to them and the Bucks are aware of that. The Kings, according to a source, are simply waiting for someone else to set the value of Evans in restricted free agency next summer. While no one can quite figure out how to best use Evans or what position he plays, he is a massive talent. The Kings know all that. They don’t want to see that talent harnessed elsewhere. They can’t afford to see that. Now, I have no one from the Bucks saying that they’re ready and willing to move Jennings, but a source indicated he’s more inclined to make his way elsewhere than Evans is.”

Evans needs to be trade. He is too talented for his talents to be wasted by a coach who does not know how to use him.

  • underdog

After his incredible rookie campaign (20,5,5), I really thought Evans was going to be the next big thing. But his career is in a downward spiral ever since. Despite he’s extremely talented, I don’t really know under which circumstances could he make the next step, because he needs the ball in his hand. A lot.

  • Redd

Evans won’t be worth much, and if a team does use a lot to get him that team is stupid. The guy is a less injury proned guard version if Oden to me. Jennings would get a decent return.

  • Junkie

jennings will definitely be traded the guy hates the bucks

Evans is being wasted away in Sactown. That is a losing environment. Needs to go on a winning team.

Brandon Jennings I like him but shows immaturity at times. I see him as a me guy and not about team.

Evans is clearly a PG, the only season he played there was his rookie year and look at his numbers, move him back there start Thornton and the kings will become a much bigger offensive threat

  • Redd

2nd one is the most realistic & even, although BJ & Marion? That’s still a bit uneven. Last 1 is SUPER uneven.

I like the first one a lot. I think the Kings and Jazz both get better there….and the Wiz get to dump Ariza so it’s a win win win

  • Pdubwilliams15

My mavs need to get Evans. He needs a change of scenery. Kaman, Collison, and Roddy for Evans. Gives Sac cap relief after the season. Theyre most likely gonna lose Evans anyway. Gives Mavs backcourt along with OJ of the future. Works out for both sides. Lets get it done please

  • Jason

GTFOH wit those unrealistic azz deals!!! U must be a dam moron son

  • Caboose

    How insightful.

  • Jason

Just tellin the truth… Those NBA 2K deals u talkin bout don’t work in real life son.. Get ur basketball IQ up

  • Caboose

Wanna tell me why they don’t work? I just want to hear some actual acuity from someone who clearly has a mammoth basketball IQ. I’d really appreciate it.

  • coggie13

if that draft pick is unprotected then it could be worth a lot.

  • zogs19994

WHY WOULD YOU WASTE YOUR TIME AND WRITE THIS??

  • Redd

It’s “about”, you moronic Rob Parker.

  • Redd

And no don’t get excited, I’m fairly certain you’re white “Jason”.

  • Dymez

I don’t see any one of these guys being traded, personally. Not saying that they don’t need to be, but I feel like the Bucks will want far too much for BJ, and I doubt the Kings even want to trade Evans to begin with.

The Kings’ situation is so simple. Evans is a point guard. He just happens to be one that’s 6’6, 220, and can drop 30 in any given night. Get rid of all these little guards around him, except for Thomas, he’ll make a great change of pace back up. Pick up a 2-guard that takes pride in his defense and doesn’t care about his number of shots to play alongside Tyreke — someone like a Thabo Sefolosha or Dahntay Jones. Stop trying to make Jimmer Ferdette a point guard, he’s an off-guard. Let him run off screens and spread the floor, he’s not a playmaker in this league but he still has a jumpshot. And last, get rid of Keith Smart and get a fatherly figure style head coach (Where’s Larry Brown, in Dallas? Get him out if there!); someone who can talk to Demarcus Cousins and get his mind right. That’s what he needs, because that kid is a screw or 2 tightened away from being the best big man in this league.

  • Dymez

You would be surprised to find out how many basketball fans actually believe those NBA2K13 trades would work in reality.

  • Caboose

    Cosign all of this

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike-Gilbert/100001749589586 Mike Gilbert

yes this is what the kings should do. and then there is what the kings will do

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike-Gilbert/100001749589586 Mike Gilbert

wat r u talking about he told u they r nba 2k deals you probly dont even lift

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike-Gilbert/100001749589586 Mike Gilbert

Lets pretend the salaries work….its not a horrible deal by any means…but I feel like the Kings could get just a little bit more…they already have like 4 small 1s that are average

  • Caboose

Kept me entertained for 5 minutes?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike-Gilbert/100001749589586 Mike Gilbert

don’t listen to those bullies! I like hearing trade rumors even if they won’t happen :D

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike-Gilbert/100001749589586 Mike Gilbert

    this is not sarcasm

  • Caboose

They’ll draft some shoot-first guard, then try to start him at point guard, find it doesn’t work, then move him to small forward.

  • Caboose

    Haha it’s amusing, that’s all.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Collins/688936221 Mark Collins

There’s always one idiot who says *insert player in discussion* will be a great fit for the HEAT and how he and Lebron would really mesh together.. -_- Spare me

  • Hugo Silva

He should be traded to the nuggets.
Nuggets would get: Tyreke, Jimmer, J.Thompson, 2013 1st rnd unprotected draft pick.
Kings get: Andre Igoudala, Kosta Koufos, Evan Fournier 2014 2nd rnd pick

  • Max

Which is realistic with the Lakers.

  • Max

    I always enjoy these.

  • Caboose

    Much appreciated.

  • mhm

We gotta get Caboose on as an ESPN Insider

  • mhm

NBA 2K lol i play that game sir and it is quite realistic

  • mhm

I know right I just bought NBA2K13 jus to have it and it is not half bad

  • AiRsMiTh

    Ronnie Brewer??

  • disqus_tbsVhoJNYV
  • esmooth

i like the last one with the lakers the jazz needs to trade milsap or al jeff they could help contenders but they have to share it with kanter and favors a bunch of young boys and kings need to trade their crowded back court too. also bucks too their backcourt is too pack…. lakers should get thomas robinson to me and give bucks tyreke evans so him and ellis share the backcourt cause evans like to pass more now…lakers could use thomas robinson toughness and he and dwight can be the future in the backcourt

  • https://twitter.com/jasontichenor Mr. Wet

the only one I question to be tough to happen is the last one. I feel like salaries wouldn’t work with the league requirements. But, i’m also way to lazy to look them up. Also, I like the last one the most. Mainly because it’s the biggest shake up.

  • Ugh

    That’s a recursive question, right?

  • Caboose

I used trade machine for all of these; all the financials are solid.

  • Mike From Spain

Iggy and Koufos? The Nugs are ripped off in this one , IMHO

  • Mike From Spain

They say Tyreke has no range in his jumper. Jennings is a loose gunner. What teams could put up with these limitations?

  • mockingbird24

Why would the Wizards want that??? Why would we keep Emeka and let Trevor go??? If we have to keep at least one of these bad deals we would keep Ariza and give up Okafor (but nobody wants that contract)!!!

  • https://twitter.com/jasontichenor Mr. Wet

Well done, Forward them to their respective GM’s.

  • danpowers

id love to see jennings being shipped to new orleans and evans on the hawks roster

  • danpowers

in a perfect world that would happen… these kings could be so much fun to watch

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

you really believe Tyreke Evans is a PG. You live close enough to watch every Sacramento Kings game and you really believe that?
