Celtics and Pistons Reportedly Interested in Trading for DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins has said he won’t demand a trade out of Sacramento, but that might not stop the Kings from moving him to install a veteran presence in their young locker room. According to ESPN.com, if/when Sacto does decide to test the trade waters, the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons are willing to talk business: “The early word from the DeMarcus Cousins trade watch, according to the latest rumbles on the personnel grapevine, is that Kings co-owners Gavin and Joe Maloof remain reluctant in the extreme to part with their young big man, especially at a time when — after three suspensions already this season — Cousins’ trade value isn’t exactly on the upswing. There’s a growing sense among potential suitors that under-fire Kings general manager Geoff Petrie, who has overseen zero trips to the playoffs under five coaches in the six-plus seasons since Rick Adelman left town, would be willing to move Cousins, preferably in exchange for a dependable veteran of quality or two who could bring some instant improvement to a franchise stuck in lottery land and still plagued by an uncertain future in terms of where this team will be calling home in the long term. [...] Front-office sources say that Boston and Detroit, just to name two teams, have let it be known that they are highly interested if and when Cousins does become available. Rest assured there will be more.”

Wooorrrdddd ahaha you can really see Terrence Ross developing lately and that kid is NOT afraid to take it to the rack and just bang on someone

  • RKJ92

honestly if they trade cousins for anything short of a star caliber player I would never respect that organization again.. lol, he has the ability to be such a deadly center..

Would be kinda funny if that was actually Stephen A., talk about the truth being said ^^^

  • RKJ92

Deff isn’t though haha, even Stephen A. Smith actually has knowledge of basketball which this guy clearly doesn’t.. should change his name to Skip Bayless, this guy’s a clown.

  • Redd

Exactly that’s a horrible potential trade. It doesn’t matter, you don’t trade a potential all star caliber center for a bunch of dispensable players. That’s never going to happen.

  • Redd

I would pull the trigger on that.

First of all, clearly women know more than you idiot & sorry but if women can raise a child alone im sure they can talk spoets better than men and I’m a guy.

LOL Avery and Fab for Cousins. That’s the stupidest trade idea I’ve heard in a long time.

  • Redd

Oh no that’s very scary but I don’t see how they’d be able to but if they did I see them hiring Ewing.

well then what other trade would the Kings and Celtics possibly do?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike-Gilbert/100001749589586 Mike Gilbert

agreed…but man is he having a bad year

  • Redd

In all likeliness it’ll be with Detroit and maybe Drummond & picks. But don’t see Monroe being moved and Celtics have nothing worth trading.

Great. But the Celtics are linked to a Cousins trade….what trade is possible between the Celtics and Kings? There obviously has to be one, otherwise they wouldn’t be in this story

  • Redd

No idea but the Celtics have no pieces equivalent to Cousins & their picks aren’t worth much either.

KG has a no trade clause! Not that they would ever trade him anyway….

  • Oscar

I believe many of you guys undervalue Cousins allot. The guy’s pretty much a top 5 center for the next ten years and the Since the Kings want some VETERANS I think a fair trade would be Kings getting Bass(taller, more athletic, more skilled than Hayes),Green(would fix Kings small forward issues) and Celtics 1st rounder for
Cousins(Celtics get future all star and franchise building block, Garcia/Salmons(Kings able to send back a bad contract) and Chuck Hayes. Salaries would match and Kings get the veterans they need . . . not bradley(Kings are loaded in the backcourt), Lee, or rookies Sullinger and Melo

  • Stephen A. Smith

You’re clearly an idiot. You have no knowledge of basketball, you’ve probably never even played organized basketball. Oh yeah and you’re a Raptors fan.

  • RKJ92

I’ve played organized bball all my life… and what does my hometeam have to do with my knowledge of basketball SKIP?

  • Redd

‘Thug’? Because he’s a hothead he’s a ‘thug’? So is Kevin Love a thug too or what? Because that dude rants away much more than DMC or is it just that DMC is black?

    Idiot.

alright so maybe the Celtics can only get Cousins through a multi-team deal….
Kings get: Paul Pierce, Rip Hamilton, Fab Melo, Mirotic
Bulls get: Avery Bradley, Jeff Green
Celtics get: Demarcus Cousins, John Salmons, Francisco Garcia

Let’s pretend the salaries matchup and that the Bulls waive Nate Robinson putting them under the cap (i don’t know if that would be enough but let’s pretend)
c’mon admit it it’s a little intriguing for all parties involved

Celtics got nothing to offer anyhoo. Rondo?? no way, Sac has a plethora of guards!

  • Redd

Can’t agree, it’s not as tho I’m being a jerk but it’s true. DMC & Mirotic are the most totted players in that trade. Bulls would lost a huge piece & get nothing equivalent for it.

Kings get 2 aging stars close to retirement & a future star potentially.

Bulls get a good defensive guard & a decent forward but neither are worth Mirotic who is one of the most renowned international in a while.

Celtics simply just win. It’s lopsided.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike-Gilbert/100001749589586 Mike Gilbert

I think it would help the Bulls a lot…it would give them what they need now…a 2 guard who is a GREAT defender and has decent O…and then they add depth…that trade could put them over the top!…and all they are giving up is a futre asset

  • joeysmoove

    me too

  • yo

they should trade drummond and keep monroe…demarcus and monroe together would be beast

  • Redd

Yeah his defense is amazing but again no way you trade Mirotic, a guy that’s considered the next Dirk with hustle & grit for Avery Bradley.

  • Frank

WTF? So because women raise kids they can talk sports better? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Sure, there are women who know what they’re talking about, but most DON’T. lol

  • Redd

You’re an idiot, not because I said if and also I never said better than all men, you’re the only one who didnt catch the implication that some women know sports more than some men.
