Jordan Hill Frustrated By Lack of Playing Time

Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni puzzingly tends to keep Jordan Hill glued to the bench, and last night prior to the game in Houston, the forward admitted that it can be frustrating. He vows to make the most of his opportunities. From Hoopsworld: “The two players who benefited the most minutes-wise from the absence of Pau Gasol and Steve Nash were Jordan Hill and Chris Duhon. Both played for D’Antoni previously in New York. Duhon thrived in the system then and was solid on Tuesday night with six points, five rebounds and seven assists. Hill on the other hand played just 10 minutes a game during his 24-game stint in New York with D’Antoni and had seen his minutes decrease since D’Antoni took over for Mike Brown. ‘It’s frustrating, but things get better,’ Hill said before the game. By the end of it, they had for him individually. Hill posted up nine points, nine rebounds and three blocks in 14 minutes off the bench. With a solid understanding of what his new coach wants from him, he’s hoping to regain his spot in the rotation for good. ‘In this system they want me to space the floor more,’ Hill said. ‘I’m just like the guy that stays at the block and offensive rebound. I just try to focus mainly on that, but I just got to change it up a little bit and do what I have to do.’”

hill seems to be very productive per minute. to bad he plays for a coach who likes to use about 8 guys. and at the same time run all game long, which seems kind of counter productive

He had an opportunity to sign with several teams that would have resulted in more playing time for him. He took his chance with the Lakers. Sit down, shut up, and warm that bench, son.

I don’t get it, he’s playing good whenever he gets some time..

Jordan Hill has been a great addition to the Lakers. D’Antoni coming on to coach is not good for Jordan because D’Antoni doesn’t like him. D traded Jordan from NY to Houston and then Lakers got him. D’Antoni should just forget his personal junk and do what’s best for the Lakers or D’Antoni will be gone quicker than Brown.

Trade Pau and Blake; no way Jordan Hill. What are you thinking!

    Good one.

both of you are so delusional

After last night’s performance Hill may get more playing time even after Gasol returns. I like his willingness to adjust his game. Think he can make a real contribution to this team.

LMAO Pringles man drafted Jordan Hill and traded him to the Rockets and less than one season. He didn’t get much burn w/Dantoni. Why should it surprise anyone he isn’t getting playing time? And btw, fancy a troll telling someone to shut it without a contribution.

Jordan Hill better get 24 minutes a night. That guy gets dub-dubs like nothing. Ignorant D’Antoni

  • Conor

D’Antoni did the same thing to Hill in New York. He’s one of Los Angeles’ best bench players, but coach leaves him there to rot. Nonsensical.
