Fab Melo Walked into a Door Frame and Got a Concussion

Boston Celtics rookie center Fab Melo got called back up from the D-League after getting himself injured in a strange, hilarious way. Melo walked into a door frame. Per the Boston Globe: “Rookie center Fab Melo is here at TD Garden after being called up by the Celtics from the Maine Red Claws of the D-League, but he won’t be in uniform. He’s here to watch the game and get treatment for a concussion he recently suffered walking into a door frame. The 7-foot Melo said he got hurt on his team’s trip to Sioux Falls, S.D., last week. Melo had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots in Friday’s game and 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks the next night. Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Wednesday that Melo has some clumsy tendencies. ‘What did you have, ‘Manny being Manny’?’ said Rivers. ‘In five years, when Fab’s playing terrific for us here, we’re going to have some ‘Fab being Fab’ moments. It just took kind of a head start.'”
