Grizzlies Trading Speights, Selby, Ellington and a Draft Pick to Cavs for Leuer


With the Grizzlies looking to clear salary off their books, Memphis and Cleveland are in the midst of completing a multi-player trade. Reports the Plain Dealer: An NBA source has confirmed a pending trade that would send Cavaliers forward Jon Leuer to Memphis for big man Marreese Speights, guards Wayne Ellington and Josh Selby, and a valuable, future first-round pick. The trade could be completed before tonight’s Cavs game against Boston.”

    I know, I really like him, but getting rid of Ellington and Speights means less rotation and 10 less points of the bench.
    But hey, it’s better than getting rid of Gay.

    really surpeised they gave up Ellington, he was their only legit 3 Point shooter, maybe leuer gives them some. hopefully Selby gets a chance in Cleveland, Memphis must like wroten better than him. speights is not surprising, Arthur was taking all his minutes

    When I first saw that the Grizzlies had made a trade this morning, I thought Rudy Gay was gone. Happy to see it’s something different. Would like for Josh Selby to get a chance somewhere. Too bad it won’t be in Cleveland behind Kyrie Irving.

    When the Lakers got Pau back for Kwame and Marc, at the time, it was a coupe. Even though Memphis was actually saving money and being cheap.

    A decent trade for my Cavs, reaping the benefits of the Grizzlies salary dump.

    We need to build up our bench depth, Cavs need help everywhere. Especially with Varejao out for the season.
