Kevin Garnett Says Jared Sullinger is Not in the NBA’s ‘Agenda’

Boston Celtics rookie big man Jared Sullinger wasn’t selected for the All-Star “Rising Stars” extravaganza. According to Kevin Garnett, the NBA must have excluded his teammate from their secret “agenda”. Of course. Per WEEI: “Garnett was informed after Wednesday’s game that Sullinger, who is averaging over six points and six rebounds a game for Boston, was overlooked in the annual competition of the best first and second-year players in the league. ‘Really? I’m actually shocked,’ Garnett said. Then he expanded upon those thoughts. ‘It doesn’t surprise me,’ he said. ‘This league has, I guess, an agenda in what they want. And Jared’s not in that agenda. I hope it creates a monster within him. I hope it does everything [to] encourage him.’”

Jared is a good solid player, but he is not someone people are dying to see. Given what he does on a nightly basis with his minutes around 17-20 a game and his place on the depth chart I think it is good for a rook. But his athleticism hurt him here I mean Dajuan Blair made it to this event and he has no ACL in either knee sooo yeah.

But on another note now that I think about Sully I feel like he could be another Z-BO. Slightly undersized PF with arm length, a solid back to basket game, decent range on the jumper, and a nose for the ball. posting up double doubles while never getting off the floor

that is kind of outrageous Sullinger wasn’t picked, there can’t really be that many rooks doing better than him

the key to both of their games is their giant rear ends

So can I use the same reasoning for my bias belief that Butler was snubbed?

  • Ugh

At a 36mpg rate he’s a 10-10 player. That’s pretty good for a rookie, especially a late first rounder. He’s outrebounding both Bass and Garnett on that level – in fact, he’s nearly outrebounding them on the minutes he’s getting as it is. And he’s shooting better than Bass and is only just under KG. So I think he rates a ‘good’ if not a ‘very good’.

among rookies, Per 48 minutes, Sullinger ranks…..

    – 44th in points

    - i get that he can rebound, on a team that can’t. so i’m sorry, but his rebounding numbers just aren’t enough to try and make a case that he is a top 12 rookie. cuz he isn’t.

  • Ten Speed Everywhere Guy

My thoughts exactly. He’s starting in the All Star Game and clearly doesn’t deserve to… Stop complaining KG!

sully has been def been a suprise of lately

  • http://twitter.com/Jzakoni Sanchez

has butler been doin that good? i know he had a good game the other night

  • Redd

He’s been doing amazing but he honestly doesn’t deserve to be at the game ONLY cause I think he’s been phenomenal since Deng was down & so it hasn’t been too long.

  • http://twitter.com/Jzakoni Sanchez

ahhhh man. im hopin he can finally blossom into that two guard the team needs

  • https://twitter.com/jasontichenor Mr. Wet

all that aside, I think he was a solid draft pick at what 20th or 21st?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

oh definitely. he’s just not deserving of being in the rookie/sophomore game.

  • Hingle McCringleberry

Yeah, they both have that Adrian Dantley sized poochy ass that helps them down low.
