Kyrie Irving Scores 20 of His 35 Points in the Fourth Quarter (VIDEO)

In the final seven minutes, to be exact.

The New Orleans Hornets were victimized by Uncle Drew last night, as Kyrie Irving lit them up to the tune of 35 points while leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 105-100 win. Kyrie scored 20 of those points in the game’s final seven minutes.

    Kyrie is on fire right now.. But Byron Scott deserves a lot of credit. I feel bad that he does not have an championship ring as a coach. Hopefully Kyrie can help him get that chance.

    Uhm, Rondo will probably take some time to be his former self. D-Will does not seem to get back to his Utah days production. Between Rose and Kyrie, if Rose takes a while to get back to his pre-injury form, Kyrie is the forerunner. His all offense no defense game is also very fitting for the All-Star game

    Defense, and floor vision? the game is not purely based on somebodies offense.. Rondo is also a champion, Kyrie’s team isn’t even .500. I love Kyrie’s offensive abilities, but don’t compare them until Kyrie can complete his overall game.

    kIrving did dis against the Pelicans… praise him when he consistently puts up numbers against the elite perimeter defenders and well coached defensive teams in the L.

    for a little perspective against the SAS he shot 2/15 (6 pts total). wake up fellas.

    Based off of the fact that Irving right now is a better scorer and ball handler than any pg Rose has faced. And it’s not like Rose completely shut those other pg’s down. He guarded them well, but it’s not like he turned the other guys into scrubs.

    that’s not because of Rose’s is some excellent 1 on 1 defender, it has more to do with the fact that the guys BEHIND rose do a really good job… the Bulls are one of the top defensive 3 teams for a few years now. No matter how athletic you are and how good offensively, it rarely almost never translates to the defensive end of the court…. Any real ball player knows that you can only put 100% on one end of the floor, you have to conserve your energy on either D or O, your pick… it’s virtually impossible to do it on both ends night in and night out.

    I been seeing people recently trying to champ Kyrie as the best ball handler in the L…. I don’t understand it, there’s a clear difference between having the ball on a string being one with it, and just dribbling really quickly…. Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford are one with the ball…. Kyrie is very good at dribbling fast and using speed to get past players, but this hardly makes him the best ball handler in the league, he’s in the top 5 for sure though…. he’s got a ridiculous ability to read defenders on the fly though, reminds me of Iverson that way… unfortunately that ability of your brain that allows naturally gifted instant decision making, it fades as you get older not necessarily due to loss of athleticism, just the brain doesn’t work the same at 30 as it did when it was 20…

    he did the same thing to the Thunder like not even 2 or 3 weeks ago dude, literally ate them up, lol, before you take a sip of your haterade why don’t you think a little bit and gather some facts otherwise you end up making yourself look like a fool….
    oh and your SAS point, well that’s a special case as the Spurs are the only team that are able to keep Kyrie from doing his thing, that’s if you watch any basketball at all…..
    if not then there was a recent article in the last few days just written about it on the same subject, you’ll have to dig it up yourself, not about to do your homework for you brah :)

    You’re right though. Noah actually gets more credit than Rose in these so-called head to head match-ups because it’s him altering their shots at the rim. Guys who are normally pretty good finishers at the rim have a tougher time against the Bulls. That’s not necessarily due to Rose’s defensive prowess. Bulls fans are irrational when it comes to DRose.

    Decision making and ball handling are two different things. No one said Kyrie is a top 5 decision maker. He isn’t. Chris ball is an excellent ball handler, but Kyrie uses his handles to get by defenders slightly better. It’s not just that he dribbles quickly, and when you watch him that’s clear. He does an amazing job of keeping his handle while contorting his body to get by his defender. Crawford is a sg, so he’s irrelevant in this convo.

    Stacy King says it best; bigger, faster, stronger. Those three qualities describe Rose’s advantage over all pg’s in the league when fully healthy. As a defender your main objective is to stay in front of your man and the rim at all times, D Rose has all the tools to do this and has done this for the Bulls. I understand that he has great defenders behind him, but he pushes the pgs to one side of the court or the other, rarely do they go right thru him down the middle of the lane, D Rose plays his part in the scheme of the defense. Matter of fact, as far as pg’s go who is the best defensive pg right now in the league? Pre – injury i would say that it was only a matter of time before Rose received his dues on the all nba defensive team over CP, now i can’t be so sure.

    Rose stays in front of his man and the rim period. He doesn’t reach and lose his position for a glorified steal. There is nothing irrational about that, he is bigger faster stronger than them, and is a smart basketball player in general. Him being smart/ intelligent enables him to anticipate the opposing players move, him being bigger faster and stronger gives him the tools to slow down/ stop great players.

    no when I said decision making I meant when Kyrie gets past his man and the decisions he makes on how to attack and proceed exactly, he does everything ridiculously fast and efficient. And the fact that he can still maintain a handle on the ball while doing all that proves he’s a top ball handler (no homo) in the League. He’s one of those very rare players who is faster with the ball than without, and last time I saw someone like that it was Allen Iverson and Marbury, no joke…
    Chris Paul wont be de-throned of his handle crown until late in his career….. speakin of handles, you know who’s got dirty nasty filthy handles on the down low sorta…. Tyreke Evans, YouTube his summer league mixes, I’ve never seen anything like it for anyone over 6’5

    no one said he is a defensive stopper, but he plays within the scheme of the defense and pushes opposing pg’s to one side or the other, rarely do they get middle penetration. We wouldn’t know what kind of individual defensive player d rose is because he isn’t asked to do that. IF you want to get technical, how about you ask Rajon Rondo the type of defensive player d rose is in the crunch when you try to hit game winners on him.

    no, thats not what i said, ive said this past year i wasn’t able to watch as much ball probably cause i dont have cable at the moment. Don’t misconstrue the facts. I was raised watching the bulls and i’ve expanded my bball viewing to most teams since 2005. i’ve seen enough of Kyrie Irving, I see whats happening here, you guys are glorifying individual defense and overlooking a guy who plays team defense and within the scheme of the team defense. If D Rose is an okay defender, then name me 5 PG’s who are better defenders.

    Yea man I definitely peeped Reke’s handles. I just wish his entire game progressed more. I’ve seen him cross up quite a few guys since he came in the league. I don’t think he gets the attention for it because his team sucks. For his size, he handles are downright nasty.

    None of us in here have any idea what you’re trying to say really, if you’re trying to say Rose is the best athletic PG in the L then you’re right, none of us will argue that point (Westbrook is right there actually athletically but I’ll still give it to Rose because he’s a much smarter finisher at the rim)…. but all of us INCLUDING all the legitimate NBA critics who chose who goes where on what team SAY that Derrick Rose is NOT an elite defender……. stay on his jock all you want, but get off the argument that he IS… you would have some sort of a case if Rose has ever made any All Defense teams, and he hasn’t yet, and never will most likely given the fact how the Bulls put the offense on his shoulders….

His athletisism makes him an above average defender, most defenders if not all in the league are some of the better athletes in the game, am I right or wrong on this? He is not labeled a defensive stopper because in chicago they play this thing called team defense, a concept you might not be aware of. I told you he does his job for the bulls, not for you or any other analyst to label him a defensive stopper. He plays his part in the grand scheme of things, he is not the be all end all god particle on defense, he guides his opponent into the teeth of the defense, which I have full faith in him doing to Kyrie Irving if and when they meet up. You talk about Russell Westbrook, I thought he was known to be an above average defender in the pg spot too.

    blah blah blah is all I read….. you can have your opinion that’s fine, but in reality it isn’t the truth, if it was, Rose would have at least 1 all defensive team spot…. you’re saying he’s an elite defender at the PG spot just because of his athleticism, well he’s not brah, that’s all there is too it…. Luol Deng is twice the defender that Rose is, and he’s twice as slow…. you’re riding with Rose on that athleticism tip though, I see what you doin brah
    and listen… you know how I know you’re not a real baller or don’t watch the NBA ? because if you did, then you would know that that whole nonsense about guiding the player into the middle, teeth, defense etc…. blah blah, it’s nonsense at the NBA level, in high school and college yea, but the NBA all you gotta do is watch one NBA game to know damn well that 8 times out of 10 the PG that brings the ball up is gonna end up using some kind of high pick, Thus negating Rose’s ability to guide anyone into anywhere most of the time, his only options on almost every possession is either go under or over the screen, or switch… the option of guiding anyone anywhere is rarely there, this isn’t the 90′s dude, where isolation sets were rampant and the only team using a pick and roll was the Jazz….

    But you yappin like Rose is out there every night guiding opposing PG’s at will directly into Noah or help side Deng, lol, for real man come on now

    ^ you just done messed up son, last time someone on here asked me to list 5 guys that could do something better than someone he thought, I put up a list of 11…..

    so we go with Chris Paul, Rondo & his teammate Avery Bradley, Westbrook, Mike Conley, Eric Bledsoe, George Hill, Ty Lawson, Deron Williams, Jrue Holiday and some guys who have played PG previously but are playing SG now…. Monta Ellis, Iman Shumpert…. and that’s all I can think off the top of my head, probably missing a few. They’re all better defenders than Rose not just statistically, but in general opinion meaning the guys involved in the game at the pro level right down to most fans…. the NON BIASED fans that is..

    And I’m sure you’ll have a bone to pick with some of my choices, do yourself a favor, instead of arguing go do a bit of research first statstically, watch a game or a few seasons worth of games, and you’ll see why the list is legit

    i agree he is on the way up, but saying he arrived is something else imo.

    if he continues to play at a high level consistently against good teams on big stages (ie national tv) and makes a solid run in the playoffs I will buy in.

    i know you know what i am talking about when i say the nba see’s players that play at a high level for 25 games maybe a half a season then fade and never show up in the playoffs.

    as a jaded nba fan i have high expectations to say a guy is a superstar. specifically, hardware, and not all-star hardware (but its a start).

    okay he should have gotten an all defensive spot in his first 4 yrs into the league. Sure your right, cause that team isn’t based on reputation at all. If he fights over the pick and not go underneath he can still force the pg to go to certain spots on the floor. You only prove my point when you say high screens are set in the NBA negating his d abilities, i already told you he plays good defense within the concept of the team scheme. It takes good team defense to cover high screens, and lo and behold the Bulls are a premiere defensive unit; dare i say they are the best?! btw He doesn’t get broken down off the dribble like you think, thats how i know you don’t watch the chicago bulls as much as your acting like you do. Name me five better pg’s on defense.
