Kyrie Irving to Sit Out With Right Knee Injury

Cleveland Cavaliers star point guard is out for tonight’s game due to a hyper-extended right knee. The Bulls will face a short-handed Cavs team, and Irving is questionable for tomorrow’s tilt against the Toronto Raptors. Per the Akron Beacon Journal: “Irving banged knees with teammates in practice before departing on this three-game road trip. He tried playing through it during the two games in Florida, but didn’t look like himself and shot 10 of 29 in the two games. He said after the Miami game the knee was affecting his game, so the medical staff decided to shut him down. Shaun Livingston will start tonight at point guard. Despite being shut down for a few days, coach Byron Scott said he’s not real concerned about the injury. ‘It’s one of those things that needs rest,’ Scott said at this morning’s shootaround. ‘The last couple of games, I think it’s built up. He hasn’t been able to have any rest on it, so when you have a knee that’s as sore as his is, you need rest and he needs treatment.’”
