Michael Jordan Paid $100K to Rent Museum for 50th Birthday Party

This NBA All-Star Weekend has become virtually all about Michael Jordan. After all, the G.O.A.T. is turning 50 on Sunday, and he’s celebrating in (expensive) style at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Don’t fret, MJ is more than good for it. Per CultureMap Houston (via CBS): “Even if you’re Michael Jordan, you only turn 50 once — and the former NBA star is sparing no expense to celebrate his milestone birthday in Houston over NBA All-Star Weekend. Jordan has had several local agents scouting the perfect spot for his party, which early plans outlined as a private dinner for 100 followed by a concert for 200 additional guests, according to one representative. […] Renting the MFAH costs a pretty penny — a ‘donation’ of $100,000 — not to mention the added costs of valet attendants, catering and drink, security detail and special performers, but that’s a drop in the bucket for a baller like His Airness.”
