The Raptors have acquired Sebastian Telfair, who had been replaced in the Suns’ rotation by rookie Kendall Marshall. Phoenix received Hamed Haddadi and a protected second-round draft pick.

    OH THEY SCARED NOW!

  • DaRaptor

And Bargnani is still a raptor…

  • Da-Meat-Hook

    NOOOOOOOOOO!

  • #13

Bassy was going to be the next big pg what happened

  • #13

colangelo refuses to give him up

  • Dagger

When you give, someone has to take. Who’s going to take Bargnani?

Sad that it’s come to this. At the beginning of last season I really thought that he was coming into his own.

  • DaRaptor

So was Lance Stephenson. Difference is that with the new draft rule, high school draft busts don’t happen no more.

  • LM_0

chances are Bargnani doesn’t make it past Draft Day

  • airhaash

Have you seen Lance play this year though?? He’s coming into his own. Definitely adding to that Pacer team. No way they allow him to leave. He’s going to be a part of their future…Bassy on the other hand, has never been good in the NBA.

  • DaRaptor

Not saying he’s bad. But with all the hype that surrounded Stephenson, you’re a bust if you don’t meet your potential or expectation. If it weren’t for the draft rule Stephenson would have been a lottery pick out of high school and his maturation issues would’ve surfaced and it would have been bad.

  • Lloyd

What do you mean? Who wants him and will offer something decent for him?

  • Lloyd

seeing as our backup PG is John Lucas III, not a bad move by the raps. here’s to hoping another change of scenery will ignite something

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ Nick Tha Quick

Haddadi and Gortat — the new twin towers. Step aside TD and DRob.

  • patrick

my question,,,why? already have alan anderson, kyle lowry, john lucas

  • spatrick

Orlando Magic mite want him,,but after his contract is expired, and they can offer him half of what he’s getting paid now :_)

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    nope. nobody wants him.

  • Caboose

It’s Orlando. We wanted an overpaid Rashard, a crippled Vince, old JRich, Brian Cook, Gus Ayon, and Hedo twice. We didn’t want Gortat, Clark, Ariza, Lee, or Anderson though. Watch us take Cody Zeller 1st overall.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

different management. different goals as a franchise. you can’t just keep dwelling on the past.

  • Caboose

We think Doron Lamb has incredible potential. Yeah we’ll take a shot on Bargs.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

stop playing stupid. You know damn well the Magic had to get whatever they could for JJ Reddick without taking on a ton of salary. Which they ended up actually saving money in this trade without losing Reddick for nothing.

  • Caboose

Haha I’m just frustrated with the fact that Orlando never seems to get the most out of their mid level talent in transactions. Gortat? Get Hedo back! Redick? Beno! Ryan? AYON! I know there’s other things to consider but man, they’re going full tank this season. Which is good, I suppose, given its a rather top heavy draft.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

(this draft sucks balls man, top to bottom, it’s bad).

    .

But tanking is the right choice for any team with no chance at the playoffs. Other than Orlando’s albatross contract situation ($53M slated for next season!!! – gross) they have made proper decisions all year, imo.

  • Caboose

(Shut up, Shabazz is our future)

    This conversation is depressing me.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Here’s what they should do, imo. And imo, their future isn’t so bleak.
    .
Draft Nerlens Noel. Let him heal, don’t even try and play him.
    .
Tank for another season (or two).
    .
Get a top 5 pick in 2014, the best draft class since 2003.
    .
A top 5 pick in 2014, would be the top pick in 2013. And even in prior years.
    .
Don’t sign any veterans or players who cost more than the MLE.

  • Caboose

Oh I agree. That sounds fine and dandy, but they have to look at how OKC did it, not how Sac is currently trying to do it. Because the Kings are in a whole new level of hell where they’re stocked with young talent on rookie contracts, none of whom fit together but all of whom will want to get paid.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    HOLD ON.

    .

You did just see Sacramento give away their top 5 pick to save $1 million dollars right?

    .

    Literally that’s what happened.

    .

  • Caboose

Exactly. They’ve got Reke, Cousins, and Isaiah, three guys who will want a lot of money in the coming years. They’ve shot themselves in the foot by relying on rookie contracts. Dumping Rob was an act of financial desperation. I can’t think of a worse example of rebuilding following the trades of Chris Webber and Peja Stojakovic.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

it’s the Maloof’s. They sold the team for $525 million and then made a trade 2 weeks later to save $1 million. LOL.
    .
Once they get moved to Seattle, i’m sure they will be able to parlay some of this mess into some real assets. Hopefully building around isaiah and demarcus.

  • analfissures

    ……Gortat is in Phoenix, right?

  • Caboose

Yeah the Maloofs used to be cool owners. Then they lost all their daddy’s money and have been gutting the team ever since. I’m not sure I agree with building around Isaiah. He’s a Bobby Jackson type at best, not a starting point guard. Tyreke needs the freedom to play the way he used to, because he still shows flashes of his 20-5-5 season.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

I hate that i’m saying this,
    .
Isaiah and Jimmer is not a terrible PG tandem going forward. It’s not gonna win a title, but it is not terrible. If they can parlay Evans into a complimentary player (Evans needs to be “the guy” to be that 20-5-5 guy he was, he is too disinterested without the ball) that can really help Cousins.

    .
DMC has the ability to be the best big in the league. That’s who i build around. And i see Evans as the key to turning this into a legitimate team. Because i just don’t see him and Cousins being successful together.

  • Caboose

I mean, they’re fine if you don’t mind getting torched by every opposing point guard. I just don’t like Isaiah’s horrid passing skills.

Making Evans and Cousins work together is tough, I agree. Not impossible though. A transaction for a defensive small forward (Iggy) would work wonders for Sac.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Unless Evans magically learns how to shoot, I would be hard pressed to believe him and Cousins can be successful together. – and you want another wing who can’t shoot? Why?

  • Caboose

    Meant Deng. Oops.

And actually, Reke’s shot has looked A LOT better lately. Not quite passable, but not p!ss poor anymore.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

And those two don’t get torched by every opposing point guard. Just the ones who regularly torch people. And they are 100% not even close to the teams biggest issue(s). I wouldn’t address a problem that isn’t horrible, when so many others are.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

I will give you that for sure. Evans jumper has improved drastically. But it’s still a mess.

  • Caboose

Haha there are A LOT of issues. If I was magically granted GM of the Kings, I’d panic for a bit, seeing how much I had to fix to even come close to being a respectable team.

  • Caboose

I think he knows his lack of a jumper holds him back. Which is why he’s working on it.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

I still don’t have faith. The kid still can’t finish with his left hand.

  • Caboose

It is mistifying to me how professionals can be so one-handed (Reke, Lin, Jennings, Jameer, Derozan off the top of my head)

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Lin and Derozan have made noticeable strides in that department. But still i do not understand. Especially Lin, who seemingly would have needed his left to get to this level.

  • #13

all of those will never be elite because there skill set is limited

  • davidR

    ginobli, lamar

  • davidR

it’s possible. ginobli and lamar seem to be doing fine only going left

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

they both can finish with their right tho (and do, occasionally . every player has a preferred side, it’s just a matter of being able to finish with the other hand.

  • Caboose

Ginobili is one of the best two way finishers in the game

  • z

He wouldn’t have been a lottery pick. The kid was investigated for sexual assault and bashed by USA coaches by his junior year. He was largely viewed as a head case before he graduated high school. Too risky for a team to use a lottery pick on him at the time.

  • dmc14

pretty sure he is still there. haddadi is tall.
