Chris Paul and Tyreke Evans Warned for Flopping

Chris Paul and Tyreke Evans both committed flopping violations in the same game this week, according to the NBA. CP3′s terrible acting job was especially memorable: “Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers has received a warning for violating the league’s anti-flopping rule during the Clippers vs. Kings game on Tuesday, March 19. [...] Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings has received a warning for violating the league’s anti-flopping rule during the Kings vs. Clippers game on Tuesday, March 19.”

I watched that whole game, and caught Chris’s flop but missed Tyreke’s….
Chris was trying to sit down Cousins who at that point had 4 fouls, so Chris wanted to give him his fifth…. casually jogged over to Cousins after Sac got the defensive board and was on their way to Clippers side of the court, so Chris jogs over, touches Cousins and snaps his head back like he just got smacked in the head…. and Cousins is just kind of like backing off with a WTF look on his face…… it was really really bad and obvious, I thought he was gonna get fined actually how bad it was, go check it on youtube you’ll see how ridiculous it was..
I love Chris, he’s been my favorite player since entering the league, but I hate this about him… but I understand it’s from the old school of thought, win by any means necessary….

If it wasn’t a fine then the rule is a joke.

Haha yea, I saw a gif of it. But to be brutally honest, I’m surprised it took this long for CP3 to get caught.

This wasn’t as cringe-worthy as Kevin Martin’s flop vs. Denver. That ish was embarassing..

Still don’t understand why they don’t implement an on the spot penalty like a tech. It potentially could be detrimental to the game’s outcome.

    warning? c’mon fine the f*cker!

HIS FOOT WAS STEPPED ON…WASNT A FLOP!

  • yo mama

it’s so bad it looks like a backwards slow motion :)

  • Ugh

Nah. Old School Of Thought is “elbow the jaw of the dude who is getting all their rebounds”. This is New School all the way.

I like that idea. Except it’s hard to make sure it’s a flop on the fly. For each call they would need to do a video replay (for flops). Then you get into the whole Noah situation with the tip in where if you don’t call the flop there is no review and if you call the flop there is review, allowing for alot of opportunity for refs to easily manipulate the game, and also at the same time just messing up and reviewing even if there was no call. Seriously I don’t even see how they could have done that.

Haha should have definitely been a technical! Why do you get techs when you talk back to refs but when you try to deceive them like this you get a warning? What are they trying to show here?

Old school was when play was more physical, and that was more bearable than all this new school of flopping and taking charges. I know it affects the outcome of the game more effectively than playing actual defense (sadly but true), but it’s just abusing the rules.

Christopher Emmanuel Paul has been flopping since high school (and whining to the refs – big time), BUT, he is one of the realist guys in the league (a real, real man. Like a 2pac kind of man, not an idiot like most dudes in the league and then have idiot fans consider them “real”, or whatever. A stand-up brother, which in this world of celebrity and self-worship is rare to find). Strange that the AA community has more vocal leaders, power, and credibility than ever but all the people who made it out got lost in the bling and totally forgot about the struggle.
