Greg Oden Sat In Dan Gilbert’s Courtside Seat at Cavs Game

Greg Oden says he won’t decide on which team to sign with until July—he’s reportedly considering the Heat, Cavs and Celtics. But the Cavs made a bold move Friday night in Cleveland, seating the 25-year-old center next to the team bench in owner Dan Gilbert’s courtside seat: “Officially, it wasn’t a recruiting trip. Greg Oden wasn’t at The Q to meet with the Cavaliers and discuss the possibility of signing with Cleveland. The former Ohio State player was a guest of his longtime friend, Memphis guard Mike Conley Jr. Once in the arena, however, the Cavaliers generously moved Oden to the courtside seat next to the team bench, his long legs stretching out onto the court. Oden is a free agent, and the Cavaliers remain high on his list of possibilities. Oden is not expected to sign with a team until the summer, though he said he’s leaving the timetable up to his agent, Mike Conley Sr. ‘I do think it’s a possibility,’ Oden said. ‘I definitely like this organization, I definitely like the direction they’re headed.’ In the meantime, Oden continues to rehab his knee injury. He said ‘it’s getting better,’ but after three microfracture surgeries, he still makes frequent doctor visits. The former No. 1 draft pick has not played in a game since 2009. Oden chatted with Cavaliers players throughout the game and at breaks, and even ventured into a Cavaliers suite at halftime.”

If he achieves half of his defensive potential and gets even ten points a game, the Cavs are a much better team, and have frightening upside. Waiters looks good, minus shot selection, but hopefully that comes, and Kyrie’s scary good. Add another draft pick, and Tristian Thompson developing more, and whatever they could get for Andy and I think this team has a lot of potential for next season to hit the playoffs as a low seed. But that’s putting alot of “if’s” on Dan Gilbert, and it’s Cleveland, soooo…..

If that happens… No, I’m not even mentioning it, it’s not happening, sorry, Cavs fans !! I mean, to leave Miami for Cleveland, you’d have to be mental, right?

I would too just to show how many heat fans are band wagon fans, who rootfor the favorite, or where the best player is.

It’s funny because that will be the seat that he will be sitting in for 90% of the Cavs games next year.

If he signs with us we will have 2 first overall picks, and if Lebron comes back (which I doubt he will) we will have 3.
