Jameer Nelson Says Dwight Howard Talks to the Media Too Much

The media in Orlando asked Magic point guard Jameer Nelson for his thoughts on former teammate Dwight Howard shredding his team through the media. Nelson fired back today, and challenged Howard to take responsibility, and to shut his trap when microphones and cameras are around. Per the Orlando Sentinel: “‘At some point, when are you a gonna as a man, when are you going to take ownership and stay out of the media in a professional manner?’ Nelson said. ‘I would be less of a man to comment on certain things that people comment on about me and my teammates. We had a great run as a group, as core guys, and he was a part of it (reaching the 2009 Finals) and for him to say things about anybody in a negative manner, that’s up to him. That’s his opinion. If that’s how he feels, that’s how he feels.’ Nelson and Howard were close, drafted together in the first round in 2004. But their relationship eroded after Howard said that he would love to play with some of the league’s elite point guards, such as Chris Paul. Former Magic General Manager Otis Smith said that Howard ‘threw Jameer under the bus.’ Howard and the Lakers face the Magic on Tuesday in Howard’s first appearance in Orlando since his trade.”

Hope Magic pull out a win, that’d be amazing.

What we’ve all learned over the last 2 years is that Dwight is too stupid to change. If he hasn’t fixed his free throws after 8 years, what makes anyone think he’s gonna change what comes out of his mouth? He keeps it 100% stupid.

  • yourdribbleizcookiez

Great timing as always on Dwight’s part, a few days short of his first return to Orlando, no less. Is there a bigger buffoon in the NBA?

    PREACH JAMEER

  • Mike

I hope Dwight gets outplayed by Vucevic, dunked on by Harkless and crossed over by Jameer next week. As a Magic fan, beating the Lakers twice this year would put a bright spot on this rebuilding season

  • KevinJohnsonFan

    Jameer’s a grown man. Dwight…not so much.

  • LakeShow

Jameer is having a interesting year. Career high Assists, FT%, Steals, with a career low FG% with the most minutes played per game in his career.

    Dwight > Jameer

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Not really interesting. He’s playing more minutes. He’s getting more touches. He’s experiencing increased defensive focus.

  • Rick James

jameer is just crying cuz the media doesnt give an eff about what he says

  • LakeShow

“Interesting” is subject to a persons likes and dislikes among many other things. My cognition is different than yours.

I find it interesting that his shooting form is as good as ever (thus the 90% FT’s) but his fg% has dropped tremendously. Which could be the result of a number of things. His career high assists is interesting seeing as how Dwight is no longer on the team, nor is JJ.

    I find it interesting.

Did you not read what i said?.

I am beginning to wonder if I.Q. is inversely proportional to size of deltoids.

  • LakeShow

    Exactly.
    Interesting.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

sure, in the same way that 2+2=4 is interesting.

  • http://twitter.com/niQknacks niQ

Cosign Jameer. Finally someone calls him out. Nelson just said what pretty much everyone was thinking.

  • http://twitter.com/Jzakoni Sanchez

im hoping for this too man

  • LakeShow

if within 2+2=4 you can find out that this certain PG really thrived off of having Dwight in the lane. His entire offensive game seems to depend on having Dwight there. He was a 50+% FG guy at one point. And now cannot scrape 40% together. I’m curious if he would have ever gotten a contract without being on a team with Dwight.
Would someone like Jonny Flynn have gotten a similar contract if he had played with Dwight… Questions, questions…

    But yeah 2+2=4… Purrty much…

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

“His entire offensive game seems to depend on having Dwight there” – Obviously you don’t know what you are talking about.

. “He was a 50+% FG guy at one point. And now cannot scrape 40% together” – The defense is focused on him, and the perimeter players now. Because Dwight is gone. — These things, and he’s been injured all year. Which i’m sure you are also ignorant of. It is simple cause and effect.

. “I’m curious if he would have ever gotten a contract without being on a team with Dwight”. – he sure wouldn’t have got the same contract, considering what you are watching right now.

    .

“Would someone like Jonny Flynn have gotten a similar contract if he had played with Dwight… ” – No.

    .

    Yep. Pretty much. 2+2=4.

As had been said before, Dwight is the only guy in America who could make Kobe look like the League’s greatest teammate

  • LakeShow

Hey listen man, when it comes to SLAMONLINE your numero uno!

K big boy? Your winnin! Your a b*chin rock star from mars man.

    You feel better now?

Like you have any clue what so ever how Jonny Flynn would have developed next to someone like Dwight. lol.

Just shut up you pompous prick.

    Hey, but WINNING!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=509819249 Gaurav P.

    Oh man, Dwight…just stop talking.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jay.brodes Jay Brodes

this could go real bad! mamba better have a game like 99 cause this is going to be ugly for d12!

  • robb

    Dwight is dumb as f*ck.

  • robb

    it is, it is.

  • Caboose

Have you seen Stephen Hawking? Dude looks like he doesn’t even lift.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Jonny Flynn can’t shoot. He can’t defend. He wouldn’t have lasted in the NBA. Which is why he plays in Melbourne, Australia.

    .

    You are outrageously sensitive.

  • Caboose

I mean it’s interesting, but can be explained via Dwight’s role in the offense. I’m split here. I side more with nbk’s logic, but man, he was a prick in this…

  • bike

    LMFAO

I’m trying to figure out how when a player goes from being the 3rd & 4th option to being “THE GUY” on the other teams pre-game blackboard & thus goes from shooting +50% to 40% becomes interesting?
He’s right, theres logical reason why & its not like you haven’t seen it before, ie: 2+2=4

  • Rickyboy24

Im a die hard Laker fan…..and Dwight just disgusts me as a person, as a teammate and as a man.

  • LakeShow

Well ‘interesting’ was maybe not the best word. I didn’t think it was inexplicable by any means… I should have said… f*ck I dunno, what other word I should of used lol. I just thought it should be noted that Jameer is a completely different player without Dwight.

I mean sh*t sorry, that was interesting to me lol. No one else has really has spoken about his game lately. nbk is such a douche sometimes when he goes at me for maybe a slight wrong word usage. I just feel like expressing basketball thoughts here so I do so. And will continue to do so.

  • LakeShow

Sorry man, i’ll try to use more accurate grammar in the future if that really made you have to come out of the wood work to write your 37th comment in your Discus history to let me know that “interesting” was not accurate enough for you when speaking of Jameer Nelsons game this year.

  • LakeShow

Dwights such an ass that i’m almost rooting for all this too lol.

  • The Philosopher

And Howard was once a young man who had claimed that he followed the ways of the Bible. I wonder if that is still his inspiration…

  • The Philosopher

    OH…
And who else has heard about The King allegedly being on steroids?

  • Marc

I’m a Dwight and lakers fan and jameer is right…Dwight needs to chill out. Nobody else is making him looking bad but his self. I hope he matures mentally cause I am a fan of his.

  • Chukaz

If Nelson’s career hadn’t become irrelevant after his ’09 injury i might understand why he’s mad at Dwight’s comments. Being that he stopped playing well after 09 i can see why Dwight thought the entire team was trash. Last year Nelson couldn’t even bright the ball up court against pressure. Can you play Dwight for wanting to play with a better point guard? Sh*t, i’d be mad too if my PG couldn’t cross half court in less than 8 seconds.

  • Lloyd

He’s right, but Jameer’s just mad because nobody wants him.

  • LakeShow

I haven’t heard him speak of that in some time.

  • playa

nbk is just “i know it all”, mr. “let me explain you everything”,”you will not win cause i will not lose” ,”I told you so” smartass. As insightfull as annoying

  • Caboose

    Usually that’s my role…

  • shutup

    Duh…captain obvious…..

  • misso

@the philosopher i did hear about lebron on steroids & jameer was also on the list

  • KoloradoKobe

Compared to Dwight, Kobe is an inspirational leader of men. He’s Henry V. He’s Abraham f—king Lincoln.

  • Royce12

If I were a member of the media I would love to interview Dwight because you know he is going to give you something stupid. If he were smart he would just stop giving interviews. Just take the fine and keep it moving.

  • Max

    Tell me?

  • Max

    LOL

  • http://www.facebook.com/shooting.guard.319 Shooting Guard

lakers will probaly get beat by orlando next week

  • The Philosopher

There are articles circulating, alleging that The King is/was in connection with the same steroid clinic that Alex Rodriguez and others are allegedly linked to, in Florida.
The clinic ran by Anthony Boschi.
    I believe it…

  • Max

Damn, that is some bad news.
No more long live the king’s than?

  • The Philosopher

    HA!
Nah, they will still be frequent… for, more names are sure to appear.

Kendrick Perkins looks all cut up.
And Derrick Rose already called it.
Don’t be surprised if Kobe Bryant’s name comes up.
