Kyrie Irving Out 3-4 Weeks With Shoulder Sprain

It didn’t look good when Kyrie Irving went down last night, writhing in obvious pain and clutching his left shoulder. Today, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced that their All-Star point guard will be on the Chillin’ List for the next 3-4 weeks: “Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving experienced a left shoulder injury during the third quarter of last night’s game against the Raptors in Toronto. X-rays taken at the Air Canada Centre were negative. He was reevaluated today at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health where he received an MRI and physical exam by Cavaliers Head Team Physician Dr. Richard Parker which revealed a Left AC (acromioclavicular) sprain. Irving will undergo a period of rest and treatment and is currently projected to be out three to four weeks.”

Maaaan, let’s hope this kid isn’t as fragile as he has looked so far…

Was thinking EXACTLY the same thing…

for real, one thing after the other. and the cavs are actually very watchable when he plays

  • pk

honestly, he just isn’t giving his young body enough resting time from prior injuries etc. especially, when on the court, he is a workhorse. 3-4 weeks will be good, paired with his knee pain that came up a couple days ago. Cavs are done this year, might as well tank, get high draft pick, and fsu next year!!

The Cavs need to get Anthony Bennett

This is a freakin repeat of last year. No Varejao, No Irving = Tanking. Don’t sugar coat it; he’s out for the rest of the season. Sonna of Beeettccchhhh!

  • TV63

Only consolation is DIon is pretty flashy himself but we can’t expect him to win games for us like Irving can. This really sucks!!

If Kyrie is injury-prone, what is the solution? Get an above-average second string PG and dosify really carefully his minutes?

it’s called collect ping pong balls time. no way any person misses 3-weeks with a sprained shoulder. LOL. putting an exact timetable on that injury is a clear sign of tanking.

LOL, please believe he’s actually hurt enough to sit out people. PLEASE.

“it’s called collect ping pong balls time”

exactly my thoughts. pretty soon, some players in washington, orlando, phx, new orleans will be shut down pretty soon… MINNY is different because brandoy roy was/is there. He must have brought the portland luck there.

haha instead of shutting anyone down, Phoenix can just play their bench more minutes. Well, and PJ Tucker.

  • nhm

agree. unless that bench includes beasley.

Beasley it what makes their bench worth using in this situation

An AC sprain is no joke. I had it happen to me in University, lots of pain, could barely lift my hand above my shoulders for about a week.

  • Bojangles

What do you do with Thompson then? I don’t think either will be able to play the 5.

  • trutv

Imagine how great kyrie and wall would be if they weren’t made of glass.

i understand that injury isn’t a joke. it’s putting 3-4 weeks on it that is a joke. even if he is somehow still hurt with a shoulder sprain to the point where he can’t play basketball after 3 weeks, there is no way they could have known that today.

neither can…maybe play Bennett at the 3 like a Josh Smith…I don’t know it probably wouldn’t work unless they are trading Thompson…I just really like Bennett lol
