Marcin Gortat Out 3-4 Weeks With Foot Sprain


According to the Phoenix Suns, big man Marcin Gortat could be be done for the season, as he’s expected to miss 3-4 weeks with a sprained right foot. Per the AZ Republic: “Gortat was injured late in the first quarter against Toronto on Wednesday. Gortat has played in 182 consecutive games since being acquired by the Suns on Dec. 18, 2010. He is the only Sun to start every game this season. He is averaging 11.1 points, 8 1/2 rebounds and 1.61 blocks in 61 games (61 starts).”

    right. it’s a 3-week injury. he’d have to rehab and get back in shape. and winning isn’t really on the agenda anyway. — at worst, the 3 weeks he is out, is a blessing.

    Been watching the guys who switched to the Nike Hyperdisruptor (no carbon midplate, thickest Zoom Air sole so far, different structure on outsole) closely since i lurve the shoe and just got my first pair.

    First catastrophic victim: Rondo. I do blame his prior constant shoe switching though.
    Then Barbosa (same injury, but happened when he switched back to Hyperfuses)
    Beal (ALSO when he switched from them to KD5′s!!!)
    Now Gortat in a freak accident moment. No 2nd party involved.

    On the other hand lots of NBA players sticking to the shoe and playing well:
    Jeff Green
    Parsons (for most of Jan and Feb now back in Hyperdunk 12′s)
    Webster
    The Houston Euro-bigs (Asik and Montejunas)
    The Toronto Euro-bigs
    Tyreke Evans
    Shawn Marion and (since last week) OJ Mayo
    Foye (though playing well is a stretch)

    I guess moral is: switch from the Hyperdisruptor to another shoe at your own peril!

    Or i’m just reading too much into a pair of shoes.
