Metta World Peace Has a Torn Meniscus in His Left Knee

An MRI revealed that the left knee injury suffered by Metta World Peace on Monday night against the Golden State Warriors was more serious than just a strain — MWP has a torn meniscus. Uh-oh. Per the Los Angeles Lakers’ PR: “Results of the MRI showed a lateral meniscus tear. He will return to Los Angeles where he will be examined (Wednesday) by team doctor Steve Lombardo. An update, including a time table for his return, will be issued at the conclusion of his examination.”

Should be back in time for the playoffs.

as someone who just tore his meniscus i can assure you that it hurts like crazy. depending on how big the tear is, surgery might be needed. if it’s a small tear though some rehab can be sufficient

don’t forget that it was the miniscus that made lin miss last tyears playoffs

He could have played if he really wanted, you know a month is enough depending on the size of the tear, and I think it’s a small one since they first tought it was just a strain.

that’s good point, sort of like with rondo’s acl tear, they thought it was something less that an acl tear at first. and it ended up being a partially torn acl
