NBA Teams to Play Eight Preseason Games Overseas

The League continues to push its brand beyond the North American borders. Eight teams are set to play preseason games in Europe, Asia and South America. Per the AP: “The Oklahoma City Thunder will open the proceedings by playing Turkish team Fenerbahce on Oct. 5 in Istanbul. The Philadelphia 76ers follow a day later against Uxue Bilbao in Spain. The Thunder and 76ers then meet on Oct. 8 in Manchester, England. The Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers will meet on Oct. 10 in Manila, Philippines, and again on Oct. 13 in Taipei, Taiwan. Also in Asia, the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers will play each other on Oct. 15 in Beijing and then again three days later in Shanghai. In South America, the Chicago Bulls will play the Washington Wizards on Oct. 12 in Rio de Janeiro.”

Welcome to Manila, NBA! Price would be ridiculous though

It’s preseason, there won’t be anything good really happening.

but to see harden and lin play, along with george and etc, it will be a once in a lifetime event for most of us.

Haha, putting a downer on the guys happiness right there!

Asia and Europe always get the good stuff. I’d love to see if the NBA really cares by putting an exhibition game in a safer zone in Africa or another third-world country in South America other than Brazil (Obv with low tix prices).

Agreed, hope you get to go man.

    Haha it’s fine

I know the stars would play around 20 mins or so. But to be there as it happens, it’s pretty darn historic. Much like when Kobe KD and drose played here last year.

Haha I was only playing, pre-season games are a lot different to the regular season, but still a great spectacle compared to no NBA at all!

Agreed, I bet those people in the Philippines are excited. Taiwanese just are fans of hype(Lin).
