Paul George Copied Kobe Bryant’s Work Ethic to Become a Star

According to Indiana Pacers star swingman Paul George, he used some of Kobe Bryant’s tricks of the trade to elevate his game to a new level this season. (The Cali native has never hidden his reverence of the Black Mamba.) Per 1070 the Fan in Indianapolis (via SRI): “On his growth as a player: ‘I switched it all up, just my whole preparation. I come in early, I lift before every game and I get about 300 or 400 shots up prior to the game as well. All of that really came from Kobe Bryant. With him being around Brian Shaw and Brian Shaw being around us and me having a relationship with Brian Shaw and the conversations we have had, that’s how Kobe prepares and gets ready for games. Me, idolizing Kobe growing up in L.A, that’s really how I changed my whole season around.’”

And on the third day he awoke and looked to the sky and realized he wanted to be just like……Kobe Motherfuc’in Bryant.

You cant hate on Kobe’s work ethic and how serious he is about the game.

    Paul George is a star?

  • LakeShow

If he isn’t now he will be next season.

Let me check…. he’s very talented putting it plainly…. was an all-star for the first time this year…. the Pacers are quite literally HIS team now, meaning he TOOK it from a multiple time all-star Danny Granger…… so yea, I’m pretty sure he’s a star….

i seen a few Pacers games since all-star break though, he’s been in cruise control in quite a few of them, trying to play passive PG a little too much… he needs to get more aggressive and play the game his way, the way that made him an all star in the first place

See that is what I am talking about. Carmelo Anthony should take note.

Paul George should copy Horry Jr’s uncanny ability to align himself with teams with “exceptionally more talent than the rest of the L” so he can become a star.

I think consistency plays a material role in dubbing someone a “star”, lets see 2 more all-star appearances. Roy Hibbert might have something to say about the Pacers being Paul’s team. And Danny Granger has been hurt all year.

Roy Hibbert and his 42% FG’s as a center have nothing to say about it.

  • mariah

yeah I can tell he looks up to kobe cause hes shooting around 42%

Wish wr could get another Charles Barkley lol buy Yeah seriously I see George as a budfing star Danny had his chance but is more an option than “THE” option. Hibbert is not all that impressive to me on both sides of the ball really to me so far he seems to ne more of a high end core role player he dosent do Georgetown’s rich history with bigmen any justice. George should follow Kobe’s ethic just not his style. He is physically way more gifted and play in a way that really utilizes it.

I don’t know how closely you follow the NBA or the Pacers, but what’s going on with them right now is that Hibby (that’s my own nickname for him btw) broke out last season, got that fat contract, and now has reverted to mediocre play this season. He doesn’t look like the same player he was last season…. nobody knows why, it’s most likely a mental block, everyone expects him to bust out of it come playoff time.
Danny Granger has kind of worn out his welcome in Indiana in a way, the fans still love him but the Organization realizes Granger is approaching 30 and is no longer a franchise player, they will be trying to move him soon as they can, that’s been the talk within the NBA circles for a while now…
    George has made Danny expendable…
My own personal opinion of Granger, is that he’s a volume shooting douchebag on a crappy team for many years, and in those circumstances you will get a lot of points so I’m not impressed with Danny Granger… the only time Danny impressed me is a few years ago (2 maybe 3) when they played a pre-season game in China and they went up against the Nuggets, anyway he went head to head with Melo and they had themselves a helluva shootout, I think they both dropped like close to 40…. but then again dropping 40 on a pre Knick Nugget Melo defending you, lol

And I think you’re confusing Paul George with one of those typical guys who just has one or two all-star appearances and then disappears…. I understand that, but please go watch a few Pacers game and take a look at his skill set, his skill set at 6’9 or 6’10 in shoes apparently…. his skill set is ridiculous, he has better handles than most shooting guards…. trust me, this kid is gonna be an all-star for the next decade

I’d love to see another Chuck. He’s my favorite player of all time.

Anyone who does is beyond help. For all his flaws his work ethic is second to none.
