Tyson Chandler Hurt His Left Knee

It was a disastrous night for the New York Knicks in Denver. In addition to getting whipped by the Nuggets 117-94, the Knicks suffered a pair of critical knee injuries. Tyson Chandler joined Carmelo Anthony in the locker room, but Tyson and the team seem to believe it’s not too serious. Per the NY Daily News: “I have no idea,’ Anthony said when asked about when he’ll play again. ‘At this point it’s just a matter of getting this done and see what happens from there. I want to get to the bottom of this quick.’ The news on Chandler is more encouraging after he appeared to suffer a serious left knee injury in the second quarter that knocked him out of the game. The preliminary diagnosis on Chandler is a ‘contused knee’ according to the Knicks. Chandler, injured when Nuggets guard Corey Brewer backed into him, was not on crutches and says he doesn’t need an X-ray or MRI. ‘I’m alright,’ Chandler said after the Knicks lost for the third time in four games and fell to 38-24 overall. ‘We’ll evaluate tomorrow and see how it feels. Hopefully it doesn’t swell on me. I don’t think it’s a big deal.’ It’s been a devastating week for the Knicks, who announced last Saturday that Amar’e Stoudemire is headed for right knee surgery and will miss at least six weeks. Stoudemire, Anthony and Chandler are the Knicks three highest-paid players and all three are nursing knee injuries.”
