Dwight Howard Apologized and Wants to Make Up the Season to Lakers Fans

He won’t say if he’s re-signing with the Lakers this summer, but if you’re into reading the tea leaves, Dwight Howard hinted at wanting to don Laker Purple and Gold again, and making amends for the disastrous season that just concluded. Per DH’s Twitter: “Im still upset about tonights game and the way this season ended. Im mad I lost my cool. Im sorry for letting my team and our fans down when they needed me the most. If there’s one thing I’ve learned this year its that I need to be more responsible for my actions and learn to ‘breathe’! (Maybe I will take up yoga and come back calmer or @charliesheen can help me with my anger management) But despite our tough season, it is an honor being a member of a team with this amazing history & the best fans in the league! I hope I get the chance to make it up to you! Thank u la.”

  • i_ball

  • Teddy-the-Bear

you think you’ll be able to resist. you are wrong. there’s no turning away from the dwightmare.

This dude is a full blown sucker.

“(Maybe I will take up yoga and come back calmer or @charliesheen can help me with my anger management)”

    Dear. God.

  • shockexchange

Bravo, Bravo “Hello Brooklyn” is a catchall (look it up) for Rent-A-Center wanting out of L.A. How dare you try to out-Shock the Shock Exchange in public?

  • RKJ92

Not with Gerald Wallace there sorry bud <3

  • http://twitter.com/stepfdelaghetto Stepfan Raiford

Did this man just give a free plug to Charlie Sheen’s Anger Management show!!!!? Dwight’s either has a special guest appearance on the show or is trying to get on there.

  • robb

He’ll stay in LA. He might become a FA so the Lakers can match other offers that would give him more money. But seriously, DH he needs to work on everything, physically and mentally. If he keeps doing the same stuff he’s doing, man what a terrible waste of talent and money.

  • shockexchange

Either way, it’s a wrap for the Lakers. The last Rent-A-Center and the Shock Exchange spoke, SE gave him “5 Reasons Why He Won’t Re-Sign in L.A.” D12 has since committed them to memory.

  • KevinJohnsonFan

There’s a difference between saying “I’ll make it up to you” and saying “I hope I get the chance to make it up to you.” He’s a free agent. The opportunity is there for him. He’s in control of it. If he wants to make it up to them, the first thing to do is to say you’re re-signing.

  • RKJ92

Simply put.. he may have committed in the past, but the contracts haven’t changed since they signed Brook Lopez they would need to make a major trade, as well he is pissed with the Lakers and they are old as sh*t so teaming up with a YOUNG and very skilled Houston squad doesn’t sound like it would be such a bad thing for him to be thinking about.

  • shockexchange

L.A. was never his first choice to begin with. Think about it; L.A. gave up Bynum to effectively rent D12 for one year. Somebody’s head is gonna roll for this.

  • melvo

    F*ck the Lakers.

  • melvo

He’ll probably be back though. Kenny Smith brought up a good point last night that he won’t just want to end it all like this. It’ll only make him look ever worse (if that’s possible) if joins his third team in three years. This guy really sucks now though.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

he really made a TV reference……

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    my thoughts exactly.

  • JML-G

yea, cause Bynum been such a great player for Philly this season… as dumb Dwight might be, at least he dont get injuries while bowling

  • shockexchange

Bynum was distraught over the trade. It’s public knowledge that Bynum only goes bowling when he is upset. If the trade had not happened he would have been healthy and put up numbers for L.A.

  • Otis

    Here we go again

    Just stating my opinion.

  • house

Dwight is a complete prima-donna type, immature kid. He needs to suck it up, get a handle on his childlike demeanour and go out there on a daily basis and be a professional who is mindful of his responsibilities. Which at the moment, (game 4 against the Spurs for reference) he is not. Tired of this fool.

  • danpowers

cut the hate people. you cant blame anyone for being stupid

  • Caboose

Clicking on Dwight stories is like watching a monkey swallow a hand grenade.

  • RunNgun

I’ll believe it when I see it.

  • Dagger

Remember when everyone bashed Shaq for being unfair to Howard?

Listening to him now on TNT, he makes perfect sense. Maybe he was right all along. Howard’s offensive game is ridiculously unpolished, and mentally he might be the weakest “star” in the league. I almost hope that he’s delusional enough to think that he can put LA through the same ringer with which he tormented Orlando.

Even with a healthy roster…I still don’t see why everyone thought that the Lakers were going to the Finals in the 1st place. They have one of the worst benches in the L, their starting backcourt’s one of the worst defensively and they hired the wrong coach TWICE.

  • Ron

Who would want to move out of LA when ur that rich? People r so retarded..

  • shockexchange

Rent-A-Center knows that everybody in L.A. is expendable except Horry Jr http://www.clicky.me/rentacenter . If he re-signs and things go left, L.A. will discard him just like they did Odom, Shaq, and Bynum.

    i. Crippled, they finished the second half of the season with the 3rd/4th best record in the League.

ii. Blake, Jamison, and Hill are all good bench players.

iii. Nash was robbed of his full capacity this season; Kobe had to expend 90% of his effort offensively to compensate for their injuries.

iii. Yes. Adelman in 2011-2012 & Jackson, this season, were the two BLATANTLY OBVIOUS HIRES which were not made.

The only thing they were missing, healthy or unhealthy, was athleticism.

  • ScrewT

With the California state tax, he might make more money playing for the Rockets or Mavericks, considering there isn’t a state tax.

  • JL

I get the athleticism thing (having experienced similar deficits on the basketball court personally) but the Spurs are exactly the most athletic either. There are ways to make it work, but it takes great coaching. Which the lakers don’t have.

  • JL

Ha. Is that some kind of discrimination?

  • JL

I want him to sign with Sacramento, and get paired up with Demarcus Cousins. Those two together is must see TV. Their skills actually would work well together too. Their personalities… need some work but that’s what makes it fun!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=509819249 Gaurav P.

His need to please everyone at every turn is so apparent with each sentence that comes out of his mouth.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=509819249 Gaurav P.

Exactly. Add to the fact that the Spurs have about 10 years of continuity to their core + coaching. MAD had no training camp to work with, plus no real system in place.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=509819249 Gaurav P.

No joke, when I was watching Game 4 and saw his ejection, the first thing that came to my mind was…

“hey, that shockexchange guy on SLAM is so accurate with his nickname, Rent-a-Center”

This guy is going to bolt.

  • http://twitter.com/conorklnohara Conor O’Hara

Agreed. Having said that, I would argue that SA’s athletes (Parker, Green, Leonard, & Ginobli) are more coördinated.

LA has Kobe, Howard, and Clark, but the latter is surprisingly uncoördinated. Could you imagine what he could do if he honed his athletic technique? Dear God.

Coaching is the obvious disparity in overall execution, but no one in the League – except for perhaps Thibodeau – can contend with Popovich.

  • shockexchange

    Gaurav P.,
The Shock Exchange sees you give props where it’s due. There are several guys on here who argued with SE and called him crazy as they were blindly co-signed by their sorors. There’s a pink elephant in the corner now. As Rent-A-Center contemplates leaving L.A., those guys with all the mouf are tryna to pretend the previous conversation never occurred.

  • shockexchange

If state tax was an issue then D12 would have stayed in Orlando.

  • http://www.facebook.com/natejames007 Nathan James

Sounds like the same dwight drama in Orlando. Who cares.

  • danpowers

yes sir and i am not ashamed to admit it

  • rkirby

Dwight Howard is a slightly better version of Reggie Evans

  • Max

    Hell naw.

  • Steve North

Written by his PR agent. He is so overrated and an attention whore. Hasn’t improved his game.

  • RayJr

“Apology rejected!” – Dwight Schrute voice.

  • RayJr

Thanks for telling everyone what we have already known for the last 3+ months. Your statement is so easy to say after they get knocked out of the playoffs.
