Jay-Z Addresses Sale of Brooklyn Nets Shares in New Track (AUDIO)

Soon-to-be sports agent Jay-Z has a new song out today (“Open letter”) and it addresses some of the controversy surrounding the rap mogul. Notably his recent trip to Cuba with Beyonce, and the upcoming sale of his small ownership stake in the Brooklyn Nets: “Would’ve brought the Nets to Brooklyn for free. Except I made millions off it, you f*ckin’ dweeb. I still own the building, I’m still keeping my seat. Y’all buy that bullsh*t, you’d better keep y’all receipt …”

Jay Z is nice no doubt about it, but I’m kinda tired of the “I got way more money than you” raps

  • http://twitter.com/RyanDeahn RyanDeahn

Anyone else tired of this guy rapping about kilo’s?

  • MUBWAR

the song is alright. better then 80% of these new rappers.

  • The Mauve Avenger

I could live a long happy life without hearing Swizz Beatz’s wack adlibs again.

jay hova can do no wrong.

  • Justin

Dude absolutely positively did not make millions of dollars owning 1 fifteenth of 1% of the Brooklyn Nets. Just shows you how little actual money these rappers (even the “best”) actually have compared to the people who sign their checks. I think Prokorov actually wrote this rap while thinking about Jay-Z and his mixed barbie wannabe

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    right

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

yes he did. he got everyone to believe he was an integral part of the Nets, it opened many many avenues for him.
    .
he held a week of concerts or whatever it was at Barclays out of this. He made millions of dollars from that alone.
    .
and he invested 300K. that’s it. and his share is worth more than double that now.

  • patrick

whose the specific dweebs he made millions off of? The taxpayers? If so, that’s not very nice..

  • http://twitter.com/_DFrance DFrance

Ignoring the rest of your rant, what on earth is a mixed barbie wannabe? Lol

  • http://twitter.com/_DFrance DFrance

    He’s the Iphone of rap.

  • Anthony Dixon

“I’m in Cuba, I love Cubans
This communist talk is so confusing
When it’s from China, the very mic that I’m using” wack?

  • Anthony Dixon

thats like every rap song lol

  • nike_head

    No need to insult Beyonce

    The entire world.

  • http://twitter.com/apowellAdvocate Allen Powell II

She ain’t mixed, she is black. Her momma is black and so is her daddy. You roll with that Creole stuff if you like. They black.

  • rkirby

I’m trying to buy Jay-Z’s stake in the Nets. Who’s in?

  • http://www.facebook.com/evan.boland Evan Boland

It’s lowest common denominator hip hop. Like MWP playing hoops.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Junior-Taylor/100003121138419 Junior Taylor

I think he was talking about the cigars not actual cubans.

  • Justin

He might have gotten your dumbass to believe that he was an integral part of the Nets, but not one true nba/ncaa connected player/agent/coach/ref/general manager/ etc. believed he was an integral part of the Nets. hahaha idiot.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

WHAT? He got the people willing to pay him (<– what i meant by everyone), to believe he was an integral part. I'm sorry that you were stupid enough to take "everyone" literally.
    .
the point is, he DID make millions of dollars from owning 1/15th of 1% and what you said is wrong and stupid.

  • Justin

If you knew half of what you were talking about you would know twice as much as you think you do. Black? That girl isn’t black. She is mixed, educate yourself so you don’t sound as dumb as you do. She is as mixed as she can get boy

  • Bruce Wayne

Good question..if he’s talking about the same people that buy his music, they need to wake up and stop supporting him

  • Bruce Wayne

You need to google this, since you obviously don’t know..both of her parents are indeed black, so the only mix there is a black on black mix lol

  • Justin

YOU need to educate yourself, son. I’m not talking about her parents individually (although her mom is not black). You should take your whole post and smack the hell out of yourself and any/all of your history teachers. Google this? You google/bing/yahoo beyonce’s mom, google/bing/yahoo her ancestory, then google/bing/yahoo the creole people. Then remove your foot from your mouth.

  • Justin

well, here’s another example of someone who know’s nothing at all of what they are talking about. I just took your post to mean what it said. If you didn’t mean everyone, then don’t say everyone. I learned that when I was about 9, what has taken you so long? He absolutely did NOT make millions of dollars owning the Nets dude. Stop believing what you hear in rap song for crying out loud, or on the media. To make money means to make profit, which he didn’t technically make in the end. If he would have made a profit, he wouldn’t have sold his share.

Regardless of that, just please understand that no one makes millions of dollars off of 1 week of concerts. No one. Not 1 single touring artist in the history of music has made millions off of 1 week of concerts.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

He HAS to sell his share dummy. He wants to be an agent. And it so happens that through his ownership he make a few million dollars. Again, mainly because of the concerts he was able to hold

  • K_HOLIDAY

Dude also designed the uniforms, had a hand in the building plans, has a club and store inside the arena. There are plenty of ways for him to make money that ppl don’t even think or hear about. I believe he did make millions off of his share. Not to mention he’s about to sell that share.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    Exactly, thank you

  • K_HOLIDAY

Probably talking about someone associated with the Nets that he maybe didn’t get along with. Don’t feel like he would diss his listeners or Brooklyn at this point of his career. Doesn’t make sense

  • Anthony Dixon

    double entendre

  • http://twitter.com/apowellAdvocate Allen Powell II

Boss, Jay-Z gets paid like $500,000 to $1.2 million a show. Hell, if you want him to appear at a private party he charges $3 million. I think that a week’s worth of shows would net him $1 million.
Hell, TI and Lil Wayne used to charge like 100k for a show, which would mean the would earn $700,000.

  • http://twitter.com/apowellAdvocate Allen Powell II

Boss, you need to fall back Her mother is black and her father is black. If both of your parents are black, you are black. Stop making up random definitions to justify your blatant stupidity and hatred of Jay-Z and Beyonce.
All that talk about her family being “Creole” is something idiots like you take as gospel. She’s a light-skinned chick from Houston. I’m from New Orleans, chicks who look like her and her momma are a dime a dozen down here. That’s like me claiming I”m mixed because my mother’s maiden name was McKnight and we have Irish folks in our family.
    Idiot.
