Kenyon Martin Says Knicks Will Bury the Celtics in Game 5

The trash talk between Boston and New York is reaching epic levels, as the increasingly testy series shifts to a crucial fifth game. Knicks bruiser Kenyon Martin told his teammates after yesterday’s Game 4 defeat to prepare for a Celtics funeral. Per the NY Daily News: “[JR] Smith will be back Wednesday for Game 5 at the Garden. ‘I don’t care if Patrick Ewing comes back for them,’ Terry said. ‘We’re going to treat it like a Game 7.’ Terry had a right to talk big. He made all three of his shots in overtime, including a pull-up 3-pointer off a 2-on-1 break that broke an 88-88 tie with 1:32 left and gave the Celtics the lead for good. But his talk was also the talk of the Knicks’ post-game locker room. ‘The guy was mouthing off before the game,’ Kenyon Martin said. ‘He told me, ‘You’re not dancing at my funeral today.’ [...] ‘We’re ending it Wednesday,’ Martin said. He even made it a point to tell teammates what to wear when the Knicks look to win this series in five, then get ready for the winner of Indiana-Atlanta. ‘Wear black,’ he said. ‘Funeral colors.’”

Jason Terry is gonna regret making that layup with 5 seconds left. Rude!

Not sure why this dude wasnt on a team all year… A couple of months ago I said the Knicks should sign him. I’m glad they listened.

This would be over if JR Smith hadn’t have lost his head in Game 3 and had been able to play in Game 4. Jason Terry and his teammates should know it.

And if Rondo & Sullinger were healthy the knicks wouldn’t be 3-1 right now.

Jason Terry is a punk, he has one moment of relevance all year, perhaps two when he was talking more trash and lebron dunked on him.

He is averaging 10 points 1 board and 2 assists and he is talking trash. We all know that Boston is going to lose easily 15+.
The interesting factors of this next game is how hard JR Smith will dunk on him given the opportunity or even IMAN or Anthony getting up

Terry you are old and irrelevant, but props to you for wearing iverson’s earlier in the year but still need to check your self before you wreck yourself.

You know what they say, though – better to be a hasbeen than a neverwas.

Oh please. Wasnt Rondo healty and the team was still below .500? K.

Let me remind that Rondo elevates his game to another level in the playoffs.

Not wildly optimistic about Game 5. Too many lapses by Boston. Rondo would have made a huge difference for them in the playoffs. Guy was averaging a triple double almost every night before he went down. Celtics have done well enough in his absence, and certain players have stepped up. Jeff Green and Rondo are the future of the team and I’m really impressed with how Paul and KG have held up this season. However, Carmelo has been mostly unstoppable, and Boston needs to keep Bass on him. If he stays out of foul trouble, they can win Game 5 and then it’s anybody’s series.
