Carmelo Anthony Says He’s Not Worried About Jordan Crawford

Boston Celtics reserve Jordan Crawford appeared to say something derogatory about Carmelo Anthony’s wife at the conclusion of Game 5 last night. Melo wouldn’t give the very talkative Crawford the satisfaction of being baited by the not-so-clever callback to the beef with Kevin Garnett from earlier this season. Per the Boston Globe and NY Daily News: “When asked if he said anything to Anthony, Crawford said, ‘Nah, they was talking to me, baby. They was talking to me. Yeah, they like me. I think it’s that smile I keep carrying. I think we’re playing freely, not thinking as much.’ [...] The game ended with guard Raymond Felton stepping into the middle of a heated discussion between a frustrated Anthony and reserve Boston guard Jordan Crawford. Amateur lip-readers across the Internet suggested that it appeared that Crawford made a vulgar comment about Anthony’s wife, in line with a similar remark allegedly made by Kevin Garnett — sending the Knicks’ star into a postgame tizzy — earlier this season. ‘I’m not thinking about Jordan Crawford right now, not at this point, I’ll tell you that,’ Anthony said, nearly an hour after the game ended. ‘I don’t even think he deserves for you to be typing (about him) right now.’ … ‘I told you from Game 1 this wasn’t going to be an easy breeze or a walk in the park,’ Anthony said. ‘Those guys were going to fight. They threw a couple of punches, and now it is time for us to do the same.’”

LOL i want Jordan Crawford to play more.

  • danpowers

me too and hopefully a scrub like camby would end his carreer on a flagrant two. he’d really deserve it lol

  • KevinJohnsonFan

Shouldn’t be. Glad he understands how unimportant Crawford is and was especially last night. Like how he handled it. Terrence Williams took his and Cortney Lee’s spots.

  • Redd

Oh I think they like me

  • chump

You clearly know nothing about basketball if you are calling Camby a scrub and wanting someone to have their career ended by injury.

Go back to trying to dunk a 9 foot ring, scrub.

  • shockexchange

Somewhere M.L. Carr is going, “Jordan Crawford’s too turnt up for me.”

  • Bandwagonfan

Good response from anthony. Learn from mistake

  • not so Melo

    Dem fighting words, Melo!

he should also be less worried with what color suit his team wears

  • jmm

Kinda makes you wish JR had elbowed this kid in the jaw instead of Jet.

  • danpowers

look at his face, what he said and how he said it. that lil rat aint a man. there is a line that u just dont cross. thats not “just” trash talk anymore. i understand that guys try to get other guys lose their composure to help their team win but if you need to try it THAT way then you really dont have any sportsmanship and shouldnt be able to count on fair treatment by others.

due to all the respect for cambys great carreer, at his condition and age he isnt really that much more of a help for the team than barron, qrich or white ih they would be if theyd get subbed in. i appreciate his veteran leadership tho.

Ain’t no line man. This is the playoffs. ‘Melo mentally weak. Go at him.

  • K_HOLIDAY

I love when dudes talk trash and think they’re better than they really are. This is what gets ppl Allen Iverson/ Tyron Lue stepped over after they get sh*tted on! Someone on the Knicks is going to go superhard at this kid next game. I’d run screen and rolls with Melo and whoever Crawford is guarding next game to force the switch and let Melo punish Crawford everytime!

  • Da Real

Melo just has to accept the fact that more than a few high profile dudes smashed his shorty. It is what it is.

  • KevinJohnsonFan

There is a line. Guys’ families should be off limits. Especially coming from a dude who didn’t play. Melo’s not mentally weak. He’s respectful enough to not say anything about anyone else’s family and he was smart enough to not get involved with the shoving knowing that he’s too important to risk getting suspended.

  • KevinJohnsonFan

…He has to actually get off the bench first and into the game and he probably won’t. Just like last night.

  • danpowers

why weak? he didnt escalate or blow up. neither did he throw shots through the media. where is the problem?

  • danpowers

    indeed

If, at any point in the next game, Doc Rivers is playing Jordan Crawford then something went horribly wrong.

since when was KG crawford’s boy? smh #classless move after a great win by my squad

  • Daniel Noel

Celtics fan all day; but I can’t cosign what crawford said. smh moment for the C’s. I agree about that line that shouldn’t be crossed and crawford just came out of nowhere, after the C’s played a great game. he’s not representing the C’s with that bafoonery

  • http://basketball-performance.com/ Basketball Tips

maybe he should’ve elbowed both of ‘em?

  • http://www.facebook.com/evan.boland Evan Boland

I agree that going at somebodies family is rough and most respectful players wont do it but who cares its playoff time man if momma jokes are going to faze him go ahead. Cancer wasn’t off the limit for KG so I doubt families going to be. I’m not advocating it I think its mad disrespectful, just saying there’s no line. Players these day’s of such diva’s and its weak. Gotta have that mental edge to brush it off and rise to the challenge. If I was against LeBron in the playoffs I would go off the man. He’s proven to have a hard time handling it. And look how he responded. Now he’s a champion and he’s proven the doubters wrong. Even the haters respect what he’s doing now.

  • http://www.facebook.com/evan.boland Evan Boland

He’s not proven to be a winner in the playoffs. He’s had his share of emotional breakdowns in games.

  • danpowers

so had paul pierce untill kg and allen arrived. remember? his reputation was “great scorer, a lil bit selfish, a little lazy on d, not really successful in the playoffs” and the same writers, analysts / so called experts who gave him that reputation changed that then during that 2008 title run, as if he was the SF version of a tim duncan, as if he had always been THE leader.

judge melo after some tries with this supporting cast. if he cant make deep playoff runs with that knicks team and whoever he’ll team up within the next 2 years or so, ill co-sign what you just wrote.

  • danpowers

there is a difference between moma jokes and bringing someones wife / kids / close family in. momma jokes are accepted and traditional trash talks. nobody ever pulls a serious mum mention in. if a player adresses ones wife or inner family in, thats some whole different level. it should be allowed to beat guys up who do so without any penalty (utopistic idea, i know). i think nobody here was goin back to what kg pulled during the regular season. it was about that crawford scrub talkin sh*t to melo after the game. thats even unworthy of the team he plays on.

youll find me as the first one joking about bostons playoff exit but i respect that celtics team and what it stands for. crawford tho is a lil rat n i hope hell get his punishment for that b*tchmove one day

  • danpowers

yo celtic fan you mad? lol

j/k. that attitude is why i respect the celtics n most of their fans even tho we’re rivals. that series was one hell of a fight n u guys almost caused me a heart attack

  • http://www.facebook.com/evan.boland Evan Boland

I think you’re going be co-signing lol, too much reliance on jump shooting.
