Cavs Win the Lottery, Will Pick First in 2013 Draft

The Cavaliers won the lottery, so they’ll get the first pick in June’s draft. The Wizards were projected for the eighth pick, but jumped into the top three along with the Magic. The luck ended there for the Wiz, though, as they’ll pick third for the second consecutive year, while Orlando picks second. The entire lottery order will be as follows:

1. Cleveland Cavaliers
2. Orlando Magic
3. Washington Wizards
4. Charlotte Bobcats
5. Phoenix Suns
6. New Orleans Pelicans
7. Sacramento Kings
8. Detroit Pistons
9. Minnesota Timberwolves
10. Portland Trail Blazers
11. Phoenix Suns
12. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Houston, via Toronto)
13. Dallas Mavericks
14. Utah Jazz

I guess now they’ll have 2 future first overall picks that will follow in LeBron’s footsteps

I smell conspiracy. The NBA is loading up the Cavs, so that when LeBron becomes a free agent, he can willingly resign with Cleveland, thus completing the full circle of resurgence as a back-stabbing shameless athlete that LeBron was pegged at after the Decision.
I guess David Stern realized that giving the Magic the 1st pick would have been too obvious, so he just went with plan B.

The NBA draft is never fun without any ridiculous speculation of conspiracy theories.

this proves without a shadow of doubt that draft lottery is rigged and set up look back at past history in 2008 the bulls had a 1% shot at 1st pick and david stern give them the hometown kid derrick rose in 2011 stern gives the cavs kyrie irving only because lebron left last year stern gives new orleans anthony davis as apart of the deal he makes with tom benson buying the team and now once again he gives cleveland the 1st pick

I just have this feeling that whoever picks Nerlens Noel early is gonna regret it. He may end up like Greg Oden, hopefully i’m wrong though.

If the Magic won we’d say its rigged for them because Dwight left

If the Bobcats won we’d say its rigged for them because they’re changing their name and need a franchise player to create some buzz around the name change

If the Kings won we’d say its rigged because they didn’t relocate… etc

Either way as much as I like conspiracy theories, whichever team won the 1st pick would get the it’s rigged tag with it. Next year though……

Washington Wizards – Wow. That’s a real win for them. When Wall came back they played much better than their record suggests, and then they get a pick way better than their record! If they make a couple of moves this offseason, however small, I’ve got them in the playoffs – ahead of Milwaukee, and maybe Atlanta, as both have big question marks coming up. A big night for the WIZ!

Glad Cavs won, but their is nobody in this draft that can help. The kid from Kansas can ball, but really he is a bigger Waiters. Trade the pick to me.

I thought Dan Gilbert’s son was a little kid… until he started speaking.

Cavs got that number 1 pick from Clippers in Mo Williams for Baron Davis deal.

Bobcats were rigged..not in the good way. They continue being lowballed despite being one of if not the worst team year in & year out.

    Something is going on.

It’s all Karma. Jordan can’t win ALL the time, right?

  • JML-G

its ridiculous Bobcats cant get #1, while sucking all the time.. NBA really tries hard to make Cavs relevant again smh

The outcomes of past lotteries have no effect on the next ones.
    It’s simply bad luck.

  • Redd

No, you’re right but the likelihood increases because by being the worst so often your chances increase tenfold yet every other team & their mama has gotten at #1 pick.

  • http://www.facebook.com/devin.williams1 Dev

    Very true

  • http://www.facebook.com/devin.williams1 Dev

I personally think they should just get rid of the lottery because the way its set up alot of these teams will stay bad forever. Atleast in the NFL the worst record guarantees you the #1 pick

The Draft is being rigged for cleveland as it probably was for the thunder, I don’t know but a relocated team is probably one david stern would want to ensure success
