Knicks Targeting Game 3 Return For Amar’e Stoudemire

Amar’e Stoudemire has been ruled out for Games 1 and 2, but the Knicks are hoping to have their power forward back on the court for Game 3 vs. Indiana on Saturday. Via ESPNNewYork: “New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson has targeted Game 3 of the Knicks-Pacers series as the date for Amar’e Stoudemire’s return. Stoudemire has been sidelined since March 7 with a right knee injury. He underwent a procedure to clean out debris in the knee on March 11. He has been ruled out of the first two games of the Knicks-Pacers series but may play in Game 3 next Saturday. Woodson said Stoudemire will scrimmage with his teammates on Thursday. If his knee responds well, he will scrimmage again on Friday. ‘If he feels fine after Friday, then I think we will play him Saturday,’ Woodson said.”

  • spit hot fiyah

they are just better without him, even when he is playing well. the sample sixe has become big enough

  • LP @ThisisEther

stat is a bum. lets be honest

  • MUBWAR

the knicks job is complete anywayz so let amar’e ruin it. they already passed the 1st round. anything besides that is a bonus. they’re not gonna beat Indiana nor Miami.

  • SirGrey

    Nah, not really.

he lost his fire. wasted talent.

As much as I hate Amare and Melo playing together, after watching game 1 they could actually use him against the Pacers…

  • sfgfdg

    Amnesty him…

  • SirGrey

He’s only a bum to the high standards you probably set for him. You also are ignoring context. I would agree if you said he’s prone to injury, sub-par at defense or isn’t playing up to his max.
He is a threat when he’s in, period.

Or D’Antoni rode him into the ground, ruined his legs and wrecked his career.

  • MikeC.

Can’t. Knicks used their amnesty on Billups to sign Chandler.

idk if micro-fractures are a result of genetics or over use…

and idk if the weird sis stat has behind his knee (blood sack) is a result of genetics or over use…

but yay, why not, blame D’Antoni and blame D’Antoni bc NY lost today too

  • roscoe

anyone else realize hibbert’s D inside and the perimeter D outside on NY was great.

they made jkidd look bad and the rim was protected all game.

i think he should keep his suit on and cheer his teammates on

  • MikeC.

Check the mins he had stat playing their first year in NY. Way too high for those knees. NY didn’t have the Suns magic voodoo wichdoctors to keep him healthy.

JR Smith’s been good, but really he’s waaaaay in over his head right now.

  • jmm

Imagine how good the Knicks would be right now if they had max money tied up in someone who wasn’t coming off his millionth knee injury / the bench.
