Lionel Hollins Wants Contract Situation Settled Quickly

It was an emotional, at times downright combative end to the Memphis Grizzlies’ otherwise stellar season. Head coach Lionel Hollins hopes the organization can come to a speedy decision regarding his contract going forward. Per Yahoo! Sports: “After the Memphis Grizzlies’ season ended Monday in a sweep from the Western Conference finals by the San Antonio Spurs, the team’s biggest free agent this summer could be coach Lionel Hollins. Hollins’ contract with the Grizzlies ends on June 30, and the Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks are expected to ask for permission to speak to him about their coaching openings, league sources said. Hollins’ wish is to stay put in Memphis. ‘I hope things get worked out quickly. I love our team and the possibilities,’ Hollins texted after the Grizzlies’ 93-86 Game 4 loss to the Spurs. Hollins made $2.3 million this season in the last year of his contract, a source said. While the Grizzlies have interest in retaining Hollins, a contract extension has yet to be offered to him. The Grizzlies have increased their winning percentage every season since Hollins was hired Jan. 25, 2009. He led the Grizzlies to their best record in franchise history (56-26) this season and first trip to the West finals, despite the midseason trade of Rudy Gay. The Grizzlies also have a new owner in Robert Pera.”

    or he can coach BK

    They should resign him.
But one thing that has to change is he has to talk about winning some more.
It looked like he was fine with losing to the Spurs.
Hope we see him and his left pinky and ring finger again next season.

Just make some adjustments next season. Having faith that your system will eventually work and telling the world as much, when it clearly isn’t working was very frustrating to watch in this series.

i think he has done a great job with the grizz, specially considering what they were when he took over. if they don’t sign him, i really hope the clippers make a move

It was partly him, but the rest of the blame is one the players. Half of them looked like they gave up on game 4 by halftime.
