Nick Young Sued for Sexual Assault

A woman has filed suit against Nick Young, alleging that the 27-year-old Young drugged and raped her in 2011. Per CBS Los Angeles: “The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court against Young and the Crown Bar in West Hollywood. The woman’s allegations range from sexual battery and false imprisonment to intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence. She refers to herself as Jane Doe in the complain, and is seeking damages that are unspecified. The woman’s lawyer, Marvin Wolf, confirmed that Young, who currently plays for the Philadelphia 76ers, is the defendant in the lawsuit. A representative for the 76ers could not be immediately reached. [...] The drug that the woman alleges Young used is Gamma-Hydroxbutyric acid, or GHB — often referred to as the date-rape drug. According to the complaint, the woman was at the Crown Bar in West Hollywood with a friend on Aug. 12, 2011, when Young approached them and offered them drinks. The suit also states that the plaintiff knew Young from two prior meetings. ‘Plaintiff accepted and consumed a champagne beverage that had been offered to her by … Young,’ according to the suit. Court papers also say that the woman alleges that she does not remember what happened after drinking the beverage, but she believes she was taken by Young to his apartment, where she alleges he had sex with her. When the plaintiff woke up the next morning and asked Young why the two of them were naked in his apartment, he reportedly replied that the two began having sex the previous night, but that they had stopped when she passed out, according to the suit. Court papers also suggest that Young complied when the woman demanded that he take her home. Ensuing tests later confirmed that the woman had been given GHB, according to the suit, which also says that she underwent exams at the UCLA Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center, which revealed anal and rectal bleeding.”

    why wait this long?

“Put molly all in her champagne/ She ain’t even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that/ She ain’t even know it.”

  • lights out

bc rape is traumatic and people aren’t typically eager to speak about traumatic experiences. i mean, young might be innocent, but the fact that she waited to come forward doesn’t prove that.

You’re a million dollar athlete, in a world full of gold-diggers who’d hop on in a heartbeat, why would you drug anyone?

  • Da Real

if the evidence is true, it def sounds like rape, but why sue instead of pressing charges??

Can they stop releasing reports like these until the verdict is reached? It does no one favours, as the accused is usually deemed guilty by the public before any conclusion is reached and the (alleged) victim is put in a spotlight that they either don’t want, or don’t need.

this stood out “…which revealed anal and rectal bleeding.” Nick, what have you done?! and lady? why wait almost 2years?

I think you not using caps makes this best comment.

Completely agree! The woman couldve been drinking and been slipped the drug way before she met up with Nick Young. Def puts him in a bad spotlight, and could possibly do the same for her if he’s proven innocent. Ppl are ruthless, so if her story is proven untrue, I can see the public jumping to conclusions and coming down on her for “making up” a story or scenario or whatever they may call it. They’ll begin to question her lifestyle and motives and it just gets bad. Def a tough situation for all parties involved. Guess thats why she filed her complaint as Jane Doe

There is no evidence left whatsoever. This is just to give the man a bad rep. Women are crazy these days especialy if they can get a quick buck.

“When the plaintiff woke up the next morning and asked Young why the two of them were naked in his apartment”

Ricky Rubio would have responded with ‘Change your face. Relax. Enjoy.’

    1) You’re a f*cking idiot. 2) You’re a f*cking idiot. 3) Opposite day: You’re not a f*cking idiot.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

Only a very, VERY small, almost insignificant proportion of r@pe cases are false reports–the number is probably less than 3%. On the other hand, there are over 200,000 rapes committed in the US PER YEAR, most of them with the r@pist getting away scott-free.

There is absolutely a r@pe culture in the United States and an epidemic of violence against women. And people wonder why this is so, when you have idiots on SLAM calling every woman they dislike a “b****” or a “c***” or a “golddigger,” and making jokes about beating up women.

Unlike with homophobia and racism, you can be openly misogynistic and people won’t bat an eyelid–it’s just accepted as perfectly normal. So yeah, I have zero respect for misogynistic pieces of sh!t. If Nick Young really did r@pe that woman, f*ck him.

  • Ugh

    Right on, Teddy-the-Bear.

  • Ugh

    *facepalm*
