Brooklyn Nets to Interview Brian Shaw for Coaching Position

Brian Shaw — hot prospect that he is — will reportedly meet with the Brooklyn Nets about their head coaching position, and may get a job offer (though Lionel Hollins may or may not still be in the running as well.) Per Yahoo! Sports: “Nets president Billy King is expected to meet with Shaw shortly to discuss the job and an offer could be forthcoming, sources said. Pacers officials say that King has done an inordinate amount of research on Shaw over the past several weeks. Pacers president Donnie Walsh worked with King years ago with Indiana and has kept a close relationship with him. Memphis coach Lionel Hollins is also under consideration for the Nets job. The Nets won 49 regular-season games and lost in seven games to the Chicago Bulls in the first-round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Nets believe they need a coach to help instill toughness in their team. Shaw has been the Pacers’ top assistant the past two years after spending seven years on Phil Jackson’s staff with the Los Angeles Lakers.”

would be a smart move..i want bshaw in LA and not roaming the clips sidelines either!!

  • spit hot fiyah

only way he ends up in LA is with he clips. lakers still have d’antoni under contract and would have to pay him if he is fired, and it is clear that they have moved on from phil jackson and his staff

  • Jay Brodes

very true boss unless jennie takes the reins which would be a great move!!! doubt it thou..i hate jimmy and i hate dantoni..die hard lakeshow fan but i call it like a see it!

  • spit hot fiyah

agreed, consider yourself fortunate if jennie takes control

  • RayJr

Jeanie should’ve taken over in the first place and now the team is being ran like Al Davis’ son is running the Raiders…into the ground! Good thing is it is LA and free agents will still come plus the multi billion dollar TV deal doesn’t hurt. As a Lakers fan next year will be tough to watch though.
