Dwyane Wade Refuses to Discuss Knee Injury in Game 6

There was a noticeable absence in the Miami Heat’s lineup as the second half began in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Dwyane Wade stayed back in the locker room to receive additional care after banging knees with Manu Ginobili. Wade, though, wouldn’t talk about his latest injury. Per the Sun-Sentinel: “Wade, who despite a balky knee was coming off back-to-back games of 32 and 25 points, but clearly re tweaked his sore left knee in an early first-quarter collison with Manu Ginobili. Wade needed extended treatment during halftime and didn’t enter the game in the third quarter until 2:22 had expired with the Heat down five points. He finished with a pedestrian 14 points on 6-of-15 from the field with four rebounds, four assists and three turnovers. ‘Yes,’ Wade responded to a reporter asking if he hurt his knee. ‘Nothing, that we’re going to talk about.’ Wade had just two points in the fourth quarter and none in the overtime. With the Heat down 10 points to start the fourh quarter, (LeBron) James led a 22-9 run with Wade on the bench for the entire burst. But still the Heat needed a Ray Allen 3-pointer with 5.2 seconds left to force overtime. ‘Just no quit in this team,’ Wade said in a happy locker room. ‘The game of basketball is a funny thing. I wish we could say how and why [we won]. That’s why we love this game. It’s unpredictable. That’s why the only thing you can do when things look dim and dark is just keep going.’ [...] Wade is looking forward to what could be an epic Game 7 of the NBA Finals back at AmericanAirlines Arena. ‘I’ve never wanted to play a Game 7 so bad,’ Wade said. ‘When you’re out there and losing, you will do anything to get to that next game, and this is what it’s all about. The two best teams in the NBA to fight it out in a Game 7 on our home floor. It’s going to be a great game.’”

No need to discuss it. We all saw it and knew why he wasn’t on the floor.

When wade entered the game for mike miller i believe midway through the fourth, the heat lost all momentum. Wade started going 1 on 1 and it led to lebron being a non aggressive bystander. ofc the final 2 mins and those putrid turnovers should be blamed on lebron bc he committed those turnovers. however, i believe mike miller staying in the game would have actually been better and maybe the heat win in regulation…

I believe after wade came in the spurs went on a nice little 7-0 run. well, maybe a 7-2 run i don’t remember. i just know the heat looked horrible when wade came back on the court and looked way better with miller on the court at that time.

I saw someone point out that the heat’s offensive and defensive efficiency with lebron and no wade on the court this series has been astronomical compared to when they both were on the court together. However, the heat have also scored more points than the spurs when lebron leaves the game and wade/others play. this is perplexing and should have been solved by now. both were supposed to yield the best lineup together yet now it seems like it isn’t so. Lebron and wade’s chemistry has been way off. the heat are literally 2 different teams when lebron/no wade are on the court, wade/no lebron are on the court and when wade/lebron are on the court. 3 different teams and the worst combo of the 3 i outlined at least in the finals has been the lebron/wade combo.

If the heat can win this chip, cool. however, this is an issue that the heat need to look into in the offseason.

I’m starting to see a pattern here, everytime they lose, he ‘whines’ about it, when they win he doesn’t want to say anything about it..

Those numbers are also inflated by the good starts the Spurs keep getting. Don’t forget that.

One game left in the season. Championship player. Possibility of winning his 3rd championship putting him in special company. He’ll give everything he has.

    yes for sure.

  • umi

the treatment that wasted Andrew Bynum this season?

  • Dev

I hope its enough cus the +/- numbers with him on the court this series are pretty ugly

Adrenaline will play a part in it. He’ll dig deep.
