Jason Kidd Will Coach in Orlando Summer League

While assistant coaches generally take the sidelines in summer league, Nets skipper Jason Kidd will coach at the Orlando Summer League next month. It makes a lot of sense for the Kidd to start gaining experience. More from Newsday: “Kidd said Friday that he plans on coaching the Nets’ summer league team in Orlando next month, hoping to use it as a learning tool as he dives headfirst into the next chapter of his career. ‘I think it’s the best thing to get right into it,’ Kidd said on ESPN Radio. ‘I know that a lot of times head coaches don’t coach summer league. But this gives me time to work on different parts of the game, learning to be a coach, also my philosophy and plays and the defensive stuff that I’ll get to put in as my system. So, I get to see if it works. If it doesn’t work, [then see] what changes I have to make and work from there.’”

I dig jkidd… hope he will do well, but…

when he was asked, “what changes need to be made to the Nets?” he answered…

“I am not in a position to tell you right now, but a shooter and some toughness I think.”

this thing is going to be fun to watch.

i see kidd being really good. hes basically been a coach all his playin life anyway, having to dictate plays and stuff. hes gna have a hard time adjusting to in game substitutions and playin time management but i guess thats what the assistant coaches are there for, all in all this was a masterfull hire by the nets.

hiring jkidd as coach was perfect. if he turns out to be half decent and atleast gets the team to the playoffs, maybe win a round or 2 my god everybodys goin to praise their frontoffice, if he doesnt win, theyl blame it on him bein a rookie coach. either fire him or let him try for another season. im really hoping he does good.
