The Magic are reportedly “considering moving down” in the Draft, according to the Orlando Sentinel. It remains to be seen what Orlando wants in return for the No. 2 pick.

this just in, the timberwolves are looking to acquire this pick because they are looking to draft the following players, in no specific order. trey Burke, Michael carter Williams, Pierre Jackson, Isiah kannon, Peyton Siva, and there franchise pg of future Dennis Schroeder. thank you very much

  • Mike Gilbert

the only real plan here is to stay bad for next year’s draft

  • spit hot fiyah

which is a great plan since any significant improvement this season is not very possible

  • spit hot fiyah

and sign johnny flynn as a free agent

Where is the breaking news that David Kahn was rehired?

I thought that was only a very horrifying nightmare I had last week.

is that worst then flip saunders as your president of basketball operations. good luck with that. hopefully he would wanna trade kevin love for bargnani and jonas valanciunas

And how does trading the second pick for an established NBA player and a pick help you do that?

I wonder if the Celtics are in the mix. There have been rumors about them moving Paul Pierce.

Get a solid role player and a lottery pick for the no.2 pick. The solid role player will help out immensely when you get a star. Since the role player won’t be making too much of a difference either way and this draft is weak, two lottery picks would enable the team to either move up the draft and nab a star or make the team an inviting prospect for any FA esp. since most of them are gonna be young……….

It’ll make the team better but not enough to screw them over in next year’s draft. Perhaps that’s what Gilbert is getting at.

The difference between the worst record and the second worst record in lottery balls is 10%. 2 or 3 more wins could be the difference between winning and losing the lottery.

I like the 1st and 3rd one, but don’t see the 2nd and 4th happening.

  • Mike Gilbert

Well to be honest, I meant that the Magic’s plan in general this year will be to get a good pick for next year. But…I’ve been reading that the Timberwolves want to move up to get Oladipo. If the Timberwolves trade the 9 and there first rounder next year, or the 9 and a role player for the 2, the Magic will be worse than if they just draft Ben Mclemore.

  • Mike Gilbert

I highly doubt it…unless there is another team involved…why would the Magic want Paul Pierce?

The last time Flip was involved with TWolves basketball he did bring them to the brink of the Finals, so I guess that might be a good start.

Getting Bargnani and Valanviunas for Love would obviously be a bad deal. But judging from the facts that
    - Love might not want to return anyways after his contract ends, from the way that Kahn lowballed his contract
-The ratio of the outcomes of bad decisions (Drafting 3 point guards in one draft where one was a bust and the other which turned out to be pretty good was traded draft night, Wesley Johnson, Signing Darko, Drafting a guy never eligable for the draft) made by Kahn to the Good decisions made by Kahn (Rubio, Kirilenko, Schved) is pretty low.
-We’ve already traded TWO of our all-star power forwards for basically nothing. TWICE.

Getting Bargnani and Valanviunas might actually be SOMETHING.

Let’s face it. We’ve had enough of the Kahn experiment as entertaining as it was.

And if Flip Saunders turns out a flop, so be it.

I’m a wolves fan, I’ve been through a lot. I can take a bit more humiliation.

Sarcasm? I thought they had someone under contract by the name of Ricky Rubio.

  • Sean Superstar Juan

The T’Wolves suffer from a loyalty problem. Too much to former employees.

If the magic take just the 9th pick and a future first I will be completely shocked.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Lol Phoenix has already started the tanking process for next year….that pick is essentially untradeable right now

  • Mike Gilbert

what deal would make more sense to you

  • Vince

Brandon Knight, Kyle Singler and the #8 Pick for the #2 Pick

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

None of it really makes sense. They must just be low on everyone at the top of this draft.

  • BugEyes

Yea it was a joke a couple years ago they drafted like 4 point guards. yea Rubio is there guy, can’t wait to see him this year

  • marquis

so they can get andrew wiggins, jabari parker, juluis randle, or the harrison twins.

  • t-wolves

so u would give up ur starting point and small foward plus ur 8thpick for a number two lol glad ur not in a front office

  • The Philosopher

They’re going to re – sign Dwight.

  • Vince

Knight isn’t a PG, Singler would not be starting anywhere else in the league. Knight is a Louis Williams-esque sixth man albeit more inconsistent and Singler is basically a poor man’s Battier that doesn’t have any major strengths. Knight has proved that he can’t run an offense but that he can score very inconsistently, Singler had a strong start to his rookie campaign but floundered into mediocrity halfway through.

The Pistons may give up the eighth pick but they have two more second round picks and 25M+ in cap space to spend in FA. If we draft Otto Porter at #2 and resign Jose Calderon we have a much better team and essentially two better and more skilled players to replace Knight and Singler. Furthermore we’d still have enough cap space to pursue other notable FAs like OJ Mayo or Andre Iguodala.

I may not be in a front-office, but at least I put some thought in what I write, maybe you should too before you comment…

I just don’t know how much Orlando wants to add another scoring guard, but that is a pretty solid trade
