Mo Williams Won’t Re-Sign With Jazz As Backup

After the Jazz drafted Trey Burke—presumably to be their starter—Mo Williams said he won’t re-sign with Utah if he’s not the starter. Looks like Williams should get some visits lined up elsewhere. Per Yahoo: “Mo Williams will re-sign as a free agent with the Utah Jazz only if he remains the starting point guard next season, a source told Yahoo! Sports on Friday. The demand comes a day after the Jazz traded up in the draft to get University of Michigan star Trey Burke, who was selected ninth on Thursday night. ‘He’s not going to come back as a backup,’ the source said of Williams. As for Burke, he told reporters Thursday, ‘My goal is to come in and start right away. I look forward to coming in and helping the team win.’

He won’t sign as a backup yet will play backup next season… go figure! Where is he going to play? LOL Everyone has a solid PG situation maybe except PHILLY and ORLANDO.

philly will probaly start mcw in hopes of sucking enough to get a shot at wiggins. he could start for orlando.

of the top of my head i can’t think of many teams he could start for if we look a their rosters right now. maybe dallas, sacramento (which would be the worst fit ever), orlando, i’m running out of ideas. please help

Yeah but even Orlando has a solid PG situation they have Jameer Nelson and I rather have him over Mo Williams lol. The only 2 teams that I can think of that he can go to and start is the Bucks assuming they don’t re-sign Jennings and the Kings assuming Isaiah Thomas moves to the bench as 6th man.

He didn’t even deserve to be a starter back in his Cleveland days…

SO glad he is gone from Cleveland. I never realized what a drama queen he can be. Mo is ALWAYS hurt most of the season anyways especially when he starts playing awful. He is the same on every team. You just can’t depend on him or you will get burnt every time. Let him walk.

If he is not willing to be a backup it should be the end of his NBA career

No way I’d pick Mo over Isaiah.

He won’t win a championship with that kind of attitude. As if he is an allstar caliber of a player. The jazz should be happy that he won’t re-sign with them.

It’s not many teams I see him starting on.

with that talent he won’t accept a bench position? just too proud to accept that a rookie gets his position huh?
