Clippers Sign Darren Collison to Two-Year Deal

With Eric Bledsoe gone, Chris Paul was very much in need of a back-up—and now he has one. The Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly signed point guard Darren Collison to a two-year deal, per Yahoo!: “Free-agent point guard Darren Collison has agreed to sign a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers to become Chris Paul’s backup, a source told Yahoo! Sports on Saturday. Collison’s money will come from part of the mid-level exception and the contract has a player’s option in the second season. The former UCLA star averaged 12 points and 5.1 assists for the Dallas Mavericks last season.”

which words makes one’s comment await moderation?

Good moves by the Clippers this offseason. All of this hinges on Blake Griffin’s improvement in his game and his mindset though. Until that changes, they’ll be a 2nd round exit type of team.

  • Nathan Shane Long

kinda ironic that Darren Collison signs with the Clippers since Chris Paul ran him out of New Orleans

  • JML-G

    is Billups still with Clippers?

  • roscoe

i’m not sure exactly, but its a wonder how one of your post ever makes it up.

i mean that with the utmost respect.

Ran him out as in got healthy after knee surgery and came back to play? He played his way out of NO more than anything else. He looked like a starting PG in the league and he had a few chances to be that. Now he’s back to being a backup.

    Free agent.

B.S. DUDE during the 2009-2010 campaign Chris Paul was injured most of the season Darren Collison there 1st round pick became the starting point guard and played superb for them he averaged 18ppg 9apg as a starter he played so well in fact that people in the hornets organization thought that Collison made Paul EXPENDABLE and Collison was the point guard for the future in New Orleans there were even talks about starting both of them in the backcourt in 2010 and Paul being the selfish DIVA that he is pulled a “DIVA” move forced the team to trade Collison giving the franchise false hope that they could resign to a long term contract in the summer of 2011

  • OfftheWall87

Link to a story with a credible source saying that Chris Paul wanted him gone?

  • Nathan Shane Long

it is a fact people within the hornets franchise know that is the truth another example of a superstar selfish player pulling a “POWER” move which was the first move that Chris Paul made that has earned him his “DIVA” reputation around the league the latest move being him INFLUENCING the clippers to fire Del Negro so he would sign his MEGA 100$ DOLLAR CONTRACT

Definitely. Chris Paul has maxed out his talent, so there’s not much he can do to elevate the Clippers, but Blake Griffin still has some holes in his game to work on. He’s got to master some post moves, hit the mid-range J consistently, learn how to pass out of the double-team and just become tougher generally. Z-Bo really exposed him during the Playoffs while possessing half of Blake’s athleticism. Hopefully Blake is using that embarassment as motivation this summer to become the truly dominant big man he’s capable of becoming.

  • OfftheWall87

Again, link? Either you have proof or you made it up because you think CP3′s a “diva”. Because it looks like you just dislike Chris Paul.

  • OfftheWall87

Blake’s improvement will allow CP3′s greatness as a pass-first PG to really show. He’s the wildcard. Right now, Chris has to do too much scoring too often with Blake being inconsistent. But if Blake can score inside, it will highlight CP3 because like you said, he’s not going to get better. He’s as great as he’s going to get. So others around him have to improve.

  • Nathan Shane Long

once again it is a fact there does not have to be any article that you search for on google or espn it is just insider information about Chris Paul i dont need proof you idiot it aint COURT STUPID

  • OfftheWall87

You do need proof. Otherwise, you look stupid sitting here saying something’s a fact without any proof at all. But go ahead if you don’t mind looking silly.

  • Nathan Shane Long

Chris Paul denial is proof enough dummy

  • OfftheWall87

    lol Yeah. Okay.

true, hope he gets more serious with his game and start winning championships with CP3. that fun and games he had last year should be reduced to minimum.
