Contest: Win Gym Bag Signed by Dwight Howard

Answer a question about D12′s mentorship episode and win!

The 2013 ACUVUE 1-DAY Contest kicked off its third year, giving kids the chance to be mentored for a day by one of their favorite celebrities. One lucky winner, Anthony, was chosen to be mentored by Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard so that he can get closer to his dream of becoming a professional basketball player.

As part of the contest, ACUVUE will be giving away an adidas gym bag, signed by D12, to the reader who can answer the following question about the video posted above:

What move did Dwight teach Anthony on the court?

Be sure to leave your answer in the comments section (and provide a legitimate email address) to be entered to win.

Dwight Howard taught Anthony conventional offensive post game any big man should know. However, the lessons off the court were the most critical. A meager .6% of high school athletes go pro in their sport—a statistic Anthony will have a have very tough time of joining. By teaching him the values of character, commitment, and confidence, Dwight Howard taught him not only the necessary skills for him to succeed on the court but also in life.

Dwight taught Anthony how to face up in the post. To hide the ball to the side to not get stolen easily.

Plus, that doesn’t say if ‘pro’ exclusively NBA, or includes pro leagues at lower levels of competition or outside the US.

Dwight taught Anthony various moves off of the post up. Including the inside pivot to the face up with the ball either tucked by your hip or up by your head. There are many moves that you can do with this face up including taking a short jumper, or taking a few hard dribbles to the basket. mquennan22@gmail.com

Dwight taught Anthony post moves that every big man in the NBA should know. These moves are important in the sport. Inside Pivot, Face Up, many more. I was learning from Dwight even though I wasn’t there. Dwight taught Anthony how to have fun on the court as well and to enjoy it all.

  • Zander

Dwight Howard taught Anthony how to post up on the court and always stay strong. But the best move he taught Anthony was to never give up, and have A- Attitude, B- Basketball, and C- Character on AND off the court. That’s the best move.

  • Zander

Dwight taught Anthony to face up with the ball, ball protection, and go strong! But to always have Attitude, Basketball Skill, and Character on AND off the court!

Dwight Howard taught Anthony how to post up by putting your butt to your defender and how to put the ball in better position so that the opponent doesn’t steal the ball and score. He also taught Anthony some workouts to get him stronger. Lastly Dwight taught him A,B, and C. The A is for a positive attitude on and off the court. The B was for basketball how you want to play and where you want to be with your game. Finally C is for character how you want to be seen on and off the court. It is also who you are like they say “you can’t teach character. Those are the lessons Dwight taught Anthony.

Dwight Howard taught Anthony how to post up, which is the move most commonly used among big men such as D12. I already see the spark in Anthony. I can’t wait to see Anthony in the NBA just like Dwight. i would love to hear news about Anthony. I was surprised at how good Anthony and his brother already were. I was kind of disappointed that Anthony lost the 2 on 2 game, but still happy that he was having fun throughout the whole thing.
