Luc Richard Mbah a Moute Traded from Bucks to Kings

The Sacramento Kings have acquired forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute from the Milwaukee Bucks, in exchange for a 2016 second round NBA Draft pick. Per the AP: “The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because teams can’t confirm moves until the new league year begins today, said Milwaukee retains the right to swap the pick for a 2018 selection. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported, however, that Milwaukee will receive Sacramento’s second-round picks in 2016 and 2018. ‘Just landed in Cameroon and got told I’ve been traded to Sacramento!!’ Mbah a Moute wrote on his Twitter page. Later Mbah a Moute added this message via Twitter: ‘Thanks to the entire @Bucks organization and the city of #Milwaukee for giving me an opportunity to realize my dream and for being a home to me and my family for the past five years!’ The 26-year-old Mbah a Moute often served as the Bucks’ defensive stopper and guarded LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant, among others. The 6-foot-8, 230-pound native of Cameroon averaged 6.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in five seasons with Milwaukee after being selected 37th overall in the 2008 draft. He has averaged 6.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in 25.1 minutes per game in his career. Mbah a Moute has two years left on a four-year deal worth about $19 million that he signed as a restricted free agent before the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season. That move came when Milwaukee matched an offer sheet from Denver, where new Kings general manager Pete D’Alessandro worked in the front office at the time. Mbah a Moute will compete with incumbent starter John Salmons, a former Bucks player, for playing time. The Kings will likely still explore other opportunities in free agency.”

Good move kings. Luc is a really good defender. although he isn’t a good shooter, he’s a pretty good finisher and glue guy.

Sign Zaza…trade Luc? The Bucks were big enough, and lacked perimeter D. Zach Lowe wrote this piece up too: Udoh, Sanders, Henson, Ilyasova – all young PFs/Cs, getting better, needing more minutes. I’m not getting the Bucks this summer. The only nice thing coming could be Teague, who I think is underrated and coming on strong.

So the Kings turned Evans 11m/yr into Luc MaM, Vasquez and Landry for the same price. Not bad. NOne of them are as talented as Evans but as a whole might make more sense as a team. Might result in wins or not but the roster at least begins to make sense now. More trades needed. Backup (really starting) small forward and a back up center/forward defensive player.

yeah they are actually starting to put together a real team with different roles players now instead of just a bunch of shooters

and now they may sh*t all that progress away by giving up their extra cap space to Monta Ellis.

It hurts me that this is a likelihood. I was hoping the Luc MaM trade would prevent us from being able to sign him but we can still amnesty Salmons or package Thorton/Jimmer in a sign and trade. I hope this does not happen. ALthough…is ELlis better than THorton? If you get rid of one for the other is it an improvement?

Hopefully McLemore is the real deal and will handle all of our shooting…and actually be efficient.

if you get rid of Thornton in the process and aren’t paying Ellis anything north of $11 million a year, then it’s not terrible. it may not even be bad, depending on what you want from the team.

yeah if he starts with a Moute on the other wing or comes off the bench it he should be a better fit with Moute and Vasquez on the team rather than Evans
