Marcus Camby Unhappy With Trade to Toronto Raptors

Veteran center Marcus Camby is none too pleased with the New York Knicks trading him to the Toronto Raptors, as part of the deal sending Andrea Bargnani to Gotham. The 39-year old Camby played only 24 games last season, and sounds ambivalent about his future in the NBA. Per ESPN: “It’s unfortunate that I wasn’t given a meaningful opportunity to contribute last season in New York. I was really looking forward to the upcoming year as a chance to show the organization what they missed out on last year, and pushing our team towards the Finals. I have nothing but positive things to say about the city of Toronto and its great fans, having been drafted by the Raptors 17 years ago. Given that my goal at this point in my career is to have a shot at a championship, however, I’ll have to evaluate my options going forward. I’ve enjoyed a great career, and under the right circumstances I hope to continue making an impact in the league.”

I laughed when he said, “pushing our team towards the finals.”

yeah that’s true, he did say that. giving kidd three years also blew my mind. but it doesn’t top having two power forwards that will make a combined 65 million over the next two years, who don’t rebound and don’t play defense and that no one else in the league wants to come close to.

i kind of feel sorry for you man

but seriously, i thought that grunfeld had the possibility to learn from walsh. so far its hard to believe that both ever talked or were in the same room.
