Nate Robinson to Sign With the Denver Nuggets

According to multiple reports, the Denver Nuggets have reached a two-year deal with free agent guard Nate Robinson. Per USA Today and the Denver Post: “Robinson is expected to sign a two-year deal by way of the Nuggets’ bi-annual salary cap exception worth $4.03 million combined, with a player option in the second season. Robinson is one of the few impact players among the remaining free agents, as he averaged 13.1 points and 4.4 assists with the Chicago Bulls in 2012-13 while filling in for injured point guard Derrick Rose. In addition to the Nuggets, Robinson was in talks with the Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks. If the deal is finalized as expected, this would be the sixth team Robinson has played for in his nine seasons. […] He made 141-of-348 (.405) 3-point attempts last season, which would rank higher than only two Nuggets — Wilson Chandler (.413) and Evan Fournier (.407) — who made more than 50 attempts in 2012-13. Robinson, 29, has a bit of history with the Nuggets. He was involved in the 2006 Nuggets-Knicks fight when Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith mixed it up with Mardy Collins and Robinson. At the 2010 all-star weekend, Robinson became the first three-time slam dunk contest winner. He also won in 2006 and ’09.”
