Nerlens Noel to Wear No. 5 Marking Teams That Passed on Him

After shockingly falling to the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Nerlens Noel vowed to get vengeance on the five teams that passed him over. At the very least, Noel will have a daily reminder of the snubs on his Philadelphia Sixers jersey. Per ESPN: “… @NerlensNoel3, per his family, wants to wear No. 5 in Philadelphia in honor of the teams that passed on him.”

Playing with a chip on your shoulder can either make you great or make you lose sight of what’s important and bitter. We’ll see…

Get over yourself dude..a generation or two ago you would be playing in Poland. And that’s AFTER earning your degree.

He should wear 1 for the number of knees he has, and the number of reasons why those teams passed on him

I thought it was 5 for the number of months he’s gonna miss to start the season.

  • shockexchange

Or maybe 0.5 for the amount of points he’s going to average.

  • Dfrance

I don’t think his knees can handle any extra weight.

    I’ll be here all week!

  • Charles

Even with both knees this guy wasn’t a number one pick anyways

It funny how all y’all talking trash about Him now but when he go off y’all be the main one be sucking him

  • detek

In that case he should wear 6. NO passed on hime to get jrue holiday.

Gotta like his fire though. Also good to mention he’s a huge Garnett fan and Celtics fan (Garnett for #5). love that!

Seems a little sensitive for a guy that could barely walk the night of the draft.

“shockingly falling to the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft” lol okay.

Hes about 50 pounds away from making an impact

i wouldn’t have picked him in top 5 unless i was the bobcats and all in for tanking. but it was somewhat shocking considering that almost every mock had him top 3

    Was that English?

  • Caboose

I’m sure there’s plenty more reasons why teams passed on him. Undersized, poor offensive instincts, no range whatsoever, poor footwork, etc.

You should go find all of your English teachers and apologize.

Its over not a big deal it don’t matter what they told you bout being the top pick, you tore your acl you should still be happy and grateful you was still picked in the lottery. You cant even play in summer league what do you expect them to do and your not even offensively ready(not hating just saying). A player like Dejuan Blair fell horribly in the draft because he had tore ACLs and he was playing. GET OVER IT.

Number 5 for the number of team that passed on him? We’ll find out if they were 5 wise men or not at the end of the season. So my advice is : If you want to make a point, make it with your play instead of with your jersey.

nah, he got passed on because of his knee and his knee alone.
the team that passed on him first just signed Andrew freaking Bynum. That’s how scary Nerlens knee situation is.

I hope this kid does well for himself, but it’s hard for me to understand how a guy can play center in the NBA at 206 lbs.. There are a lot of POINT GUARDS in the league that weigh more than that..
