Tyreke Evans to Sign $44 Million Offer Sheet from the New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans’ offer to Tyreke Evans of $44 million over four seasons is something the Sacramento Kings have yet to decide if they will match to retain the restricted free agent guard. Whatever the case may be, Evans appears ready to move on from Sac-Town. Per ESPN and the Sac Bee: “Sources close to the situation said on Wednesday that Evans, frustrated by the state of his negotiations with the Sacramento Kings as a restricted free agent, is determined to leave the organization and plans to sign an offer sheet with the New Orleans Pelicans on the first allowable day. Evans took his first formal steps in that direction Wednesday night when he verbally agreed to sign a four-year, $44 million offer sheet with the Pelicans. […] The Kings were fearful (Andre) Iguodala would use them as leverage to land a bigger deal from another team and that’s led him not to commit to Sacramento, according to sources. Evans would like to remain with the Kings, but if the team do not make him an offer, look for Evans to sign the Pelicans’ offer sheet on July 10. Sacramento will then have three days to match the offer sheet.”
