Dennis Rodman Confused By Lamar Odom’s Downward Spiral

You know things are bad when Dennis Rodman, of all people, is questioning your life choices. The Worm doesn’t understand why Lamar Odom is going through his current nightmare. Per the Huffington Post: “I just don’t understand when you have so much money that you’re that bored that you really have to go to that extreme,’ Rodman said. ‘The sad thing about it is the fact that he’s not a bad guy. He used to come to my restaurants, clubs in Newport Beach a lot. He’s a good guy.’ Rodman added that Odom will now likely have to embark on a public relations campaign to clean up his image and redeem himself. ‘I don’t understand why he’s hiding in a hotel,’ he said. ‘You have a great life, you’re making so much money, you have a beautiful house, a beautiful family.’”

Just maybe his “beautiful” family has something to do with his downfall.

Dennis Rodman’s total NBA salary = $27 million (over 14 years). Lamar Odom’s total NBA salary (over the same length of time) = $116 million.

I think that qualifies him as a pauper by NBA standards.

there aren’t any excuses for bad behavior, but losing his child, losing a cousin, and witnessing your driver accidentally kill a kid on the way to your cousin’s funeral would (all in the last 7 years) probably has something to do with it. Not to mention that soul-sucking family he married himself into

Odoms on crack and that’s a fact

Well, say what you want about Rodman but whatever happened off the court stayed off the court. When he stepped on the court, he was all business.

MJ put it best, When Dennis is on that court ” you know what you are getting”

Lamar on the other hand, is letting off court stuff impact his career, and that is just a shame. And Dennis is right, Lamar IS a good guy.

And I believe a sizeable chunk of Rodman’ s money came from his years with the Bulls, which is unbelievable given that Rodman had spent around 10 years in League by the time he went to Chicago.

But again, MJ made like $ 3 million a year (give or take) for his first 10 years in the NBA, so………….

    i agree wit Rodman.
this Odom thing is the most shocking thing i seen in a long time by a athlete.
    crazy.

I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t be the conclusion the SA Spurs come up with when recalling Rodmans time there.

  • berkamore

Ok, ok, I’m ready for the Madonna jokes. LOL.

Seriously though, Rodman played with two of the best teams in NBA history (in Detroit and Chicago), and he showed what he could do.

But I always got the feeling that he didn’t really have much respect for his teammates in SA (Especially David Robinson) and you don’t want DR around when he’s not engaged (but again, I’m speculating………….)

  • Zabbah

no, he didn’t have much respect for Robinson. he mentioned in his book how he shaking in fear in the locker room before their matchup agains Hakeem in the ’95 Western Conference Finals. And Hakeem ate him up.

Still don’t understand why no one noticed LO’s problem earlier. What kind of drug testing is the nba doing that misses a crack abuse? And his teammates and coaches never noticed anything wrong? Crazy.

  • bill

You forgot his dad is a crack addict, and his mother died of cancer when he was 12.

Because when God is not priority in life the money the fame the luxurious thing will mot fulfill the emptiness of your heart. And that when u start bouncing around to see what fill u up. Money is not everything in life guyz
