Metta World Peace Will ‘Fight for the City’ of New York

New York Knicks forward Metta World Peace is ready to fit in with his new squad. And if they need him to get physical with the opposition, as we know, MWP is more than willing. Per the NY Post: “The always colorful and controversial Metta World Peace promised he will have no problems fitting in quietly with the Knicks because he wants a ring and promised, ‘I’m going to fight for the city.’ … ‘It’s easy when playing on a team to do exactly what the coach asks of you and do what it takes to win,’’ World Peace said yesterday on the new ‘Crowd Goes Wild’’ show hosted by Regis Philbin on FOX Sports 1. ‘Don’t fall into the category of egos or ‘I want to be the superstar or I should get more shots.’ We need a ring. That’s all that matters.’ World Peace spoke a lot more highly of the Knicks than the Lakers, who made him an amnesty cut in July after losing Dwight Howard and after their very disappointing season. ‘It wasn’t fun,’’ World Peace said. ‘There was no chemistry. [Deceased Lakers owner] Dr. Buss was a chemist. All his molecules had great formulas. This one didn’t match up. So we kind of had no chemistry. There was no chemistry as an organization.’”

MWP needs to get in line if he wants to defend the city. Papoose already stood tall for us son.

that was probably the funniest quote ever from Ron Artest. “Dr. Buss was a chemist”

Metta is one of those guys that will say he’s not afraid to get in another guy’s face and actually do it. His attitude is unmatched. This is a terrific fit for the Knicks. Would’ve been nice to have him on the Heat. As for the ring…that’s not going to happen Metta. Sorry.

Who??? Just kidding dude went in on that track even though he seemed hella butt hurt.

Its true though man. What Dr.Buss was able to accomplish during his time was amazing. He made the Lakers a dynasty over and over. Now they’re full of drama and sexy ass cheerleaders.

If you told Papoose who didn’t bring “that fiyah” you’d have to fight him. SE feels so much safer now that Papoose is protecting the city.

I actually thought Joell and Budden’s responses were better. Papoose just seems bitter just like Lupe has been over the last few years.

I thought King Los was the best lyrically. The last two minutes of Joe Budden’s response was epic – he was in the zone. However, for some reason, Papoose’s response is the one SE listens to the most. People have buried Papoose years ago. For him to get off the canvas and come hard at Kendrick like that … you gotta respect the effort.

Papoose has the most memorable bars. He also came with some real talk about the industry and estrogen-filled hip hop.

no i agree, he was definately right. I was more tripping on the next line “all his molecules had great formulas” – does that sentence make sense to a chemist?? i dont know!

  • JibbsIsBallin

    HAHA…So you’re saying he’s not a chemist?

  • ChosenOne

Alphabetical Slaughter is what I will always remember from him. He went IN on that track.

Yea Los came hard. I’m glad to see Papoose come correct so I show propers even though he seems bitter. Which he has some reason to be.

Papoose is a battle rapper. However, the world has changed. Hip hop has gone “corporate” and the industry protects rappers who are generating the most revenue, similar to how boxing protects fighters who have the most earning potential. Back in the day, anybody could go at anybody.

SE is not sure that in today’s world guys like Kool Moe Dee or KRS-1, who battled their way to the top, would get a shot. The stans are acting like Papoose or Joell Ortiz don’t have the status to clap back at Kendrick. That’s gotta be frustrating for guys who have bars and don’t talk about their feeling on wax.

I agree. Look at guys like Cassidy who destroyed Meek Mill and people said Meek won and he’s getting more shine. It’s a shame but I’m always going to listen to the battle rapping style rappers it just seems so organic.

he just shouldn’t be using the words “i’m going to fight for…”

or maybe the palace incident is truly forgiven by most people so that it doesn’t even ring a bell any more

I would take the $50 from the purchase of the upcomimg Floyd mayweather vs alvarez fight to see Dennis Rodman and Metta conversate for 10 minutes
